NNAMDI KANU’S PROSECUTION. “A COLD WAR AGAINST THE IGBOS BY THE FULANIS” – OHANAEZE YOUTH COUNCIL

NNAMDI KANU’S PROSECUTION. “A COLD WAR AGAINST THE IGBOS BY THE FULANIS” – OHANAEZE YOUTH COUNCIL

Nnamdi Kanu

AJM NEWS

The Apex sociocultural Youth organization of Igbo Race World Wide, the Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC) has described the arrest, incarceration of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu at DSS dungeon as a long protracted post- civil war hang-over by the regime of former President Buhari.

The President General of Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC) Comrade Igboayaka O Igboayaka while speaking to the press at the Federal Capital Territory Abuja, on Thursday 22nd February 2024 frowned at the manner former President Mohammadu Buhari handled the issue of Self Determination Agitators in the South East, thereby aggravating the already tensed situation.

Looking back now, it is crystal clear that those evil policies of the former President Buhari like the operation python dance, that claimed over 200 lives of Igbo youths, constant harassment /intimidation, extra Judicial killings, the continuous detention of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu have failed woefully to achieve Peace & Development in the South East but emboldened the agitations further.

Speaking further, the President of Ohanaeze Youth Council, Comrade Igboayaka reiterated that the continuous detention and trial of Mazi NNAMDI Kanu amounts to “Reinforcement Of Failure” which had neither achieved peace, unity nor development in the region.

He advised that, There is no better time to focus on achieving peace & development in South East Nigeria and healing of protracted wounds by President Ahmed Bola Tinubu than now, starting by dropping all charges against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and setting him free as he appears in Court on Monday, 26th February, 2024 for the continuation of former president’s headless trial.

Reacting on the withdrawal of Federal Government treasonable charges against the initiator of #RevolutionNow Mr Omoyele Sowere on 14th February 2024, Comrade Igboayaka commended President Bola Tinubu for the wise decision for the interest of peace in Nigeria.

He also added that as Mazi Nnamdi Kanu appears in Court on Monday, 26th of February, 2024, all lovers of peace in Nigeria are expecting President Bola Tinubu to discontinue the case, through the withdrawal of all charges against Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for the interest of Peace in Nigeria.

“The Ohanaeze Youth Council also called on Justice Binta Nyako to free herself from the past executive pressures and see from the legal point of view to invoke the principles of “Justice of Peace” on the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and grant his bail application by the legal counsel as it is obviously clear that Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s release is very crucial to achieving a lasting peace in the South East Region”

FORMER PDP SPOKESPERSON, CHIKA NWOBA REMANDED IN PRISON FOR ALLEGED DEFAMATION

AJM NEWS

A former spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ebonyi State, and a social critic, Nwoba Chika Nwoba popularly known as NCN, has been remanded in prison custody by an Abakaliki Magistrate Court.

According to reports reaching AJM NEWS, Chika Nwoba was arrested on Sunday following a petition filed by the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry in Ebonyi State, Oguzor Offia-Nwali, and was subsequently arraigned by the police on Tuesday on a three-count charge of threat to life, publication of false information and false allegation.

The Commissioner, Oguzor Nwali alleged that Nwoba had in a series of posts on Facebook defamed him, threatened his life and falsely accused him of fraud and diversion of state government funds meant for the empowerment of petty traders in the state.

However, Nwoba’s lawyer, C N Ufufu, made an oral application for bail for his client after the charges were read out.

The lawyer, who said the offences were bailable, argued that the prosecution did not get the approval of the attorney general of Ebonyi State to prosecute the matter in line with the requirement of the Ebonyi State Internal Security Enforcement law under which he was being charged.

But the lawyer to the police, Eze Chinagorom, opposed the bail application. He argued that the Supreme Court had already ruled that a police officer does not need formal permission to prosecute a matter in court since he (the police officer) is representing the attorney general.

Ruling on the matter, the magistrate, Lilian Ogodo, said the proper place for the argument is at the state High Court since the court lacks jurisdiction to entertain the matter.

She, therefore, remanded the accused at the Abakaliki correctional facility and ordered that the case file be transmitted to the Ministry of Justice for action.

The magistrate adjourned the matter until 1 March.

It would be recalled that Nwoba in a viral video had vowed to bring evidences of his claims against Oguzor Offia-Nwali, if he (Nwali) dare drags him to court over the matter.

Meanwhile, many have condemned the arrest of Nwoba, as they demand for his immediate release.

A Widow Receiving Her Own Wrapper

AJM NEWS

There is no doubt about the fact that Nigeria is richly endowed with abundant human and
material resources. In spite of these riches, Nigeria has been
classified as one of the poorest countries of the world in terms of its Gross Domestic Product
(GDP), per capita income, consumption standards, provision and availability of basic needs,
shelter, poverty, unemployment and overall economic performance.

Beyond Nigeria, the concern for poverty is also expressed at the global level.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),
particularly reported that about 1.2 billion people were in extreme consumption poverty
globally. More than two thirds of them were in Asia and about one quarter in Sub Saharan
Africa, where Nigeria belongs.

Poverty can be defined as a state where an individual is not able to cater adequately for his or her basic needs of food, clothing and shelter; being unable to meet social and economic obligations, due to lack of gainful employment, skills for self-reliance, assets and self-esteem
and having limited access to social and economic infrastructure such as education, health,
portable water, sanitation, etc.

Though poverty cannot be totally eradicated globally, however, to lower the rate and prevalence of poverty around the the world, particularly in Nigeria, some concerned individuals and groups have come up to render assistance in their own little way to humanity through the channel of NGOs: Non-governmental Organizations.

One of these Non-governmental Organizations is the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION, located in Afikpo, precisely Ovum Imama Ozizza, Afikpo, Ebonyi State Nigeria.

Founded by Apostle Nnachi Godwin Udume in 20……, the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION runs with the vision of Giving Value To Life.

In order to achieve this great and laudable vision, the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION is committed to:

  1. Introducing Jesus Christ To Mankind
  2. Youth Employment/Empowerment
  3. Welfare For The Needy/ Widows’ Care
  4. Pastors’ Welfare
  5. Discovery & Development Of Talents
  6. Encouraging National Growth And Development, etc

Funding:
As a nonprofit organization, the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION relies on a variety of sources for funding/sponsorship, which include: membership dues; grants from local, state, and federal agencies, as well as foreign governments; and private donations from well spirited individuals and ministeries/organisations.

Every privileged person should see it as a responsibility we owe society by putting smiles on the faces of the poor and less privileged among us.

Recent Activities:
The JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION recently put a smile on the faces of over 50 widows by providing them with clothing materials, and also took care of a reasonable number of Senior Citizens (elderly men) by giving them food and cash gift.

Challenge:
One major challenge facing our organisation is limited funds/resources, which in turn hampers our plans of reaching out to more of these less privileged brothers and sisters of ours.
In that regard, we request your financial, material support and partnership, to get our aforementioned vision and mission achieved, even as you come across this article.

Remember, every privileged person should see it as a responsibility we owe our society by putting smiles on the faces of the poor and less privileged among us .

May God Bless You Richly As You Heed To This Clarion Call!

Thanks!

I HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE WHO WILL SUCCEED ME AT THE SENATE, UMAHI INSISTS

Engr. Dave Umahi

Otu Obiahu
AJM NEWS

The immediate past governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi has maintained that he has the right to choose who will replace him at the Senate.

Umahi was a senator representing the Ebonyi South District until his resignation after being appointed minister by President Bola Tinubu.

During a courtesy call to Ebonyi State Governor Francis Nwifuru, on September 9, Umahi publicly said, “I have the right to choose who will succeed me.”

However, the Ebonyi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has lambasted the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, for making such inorderly statement.

The party observed it was ridiculous for the immediate past governor of the state to come back to insist he will produce his successor at the Red Chamber, having unilaterally ‘abandoned’ the seat in pursuit of his ministerial appointment, without consulting the constituents of Ebonyi South Zone.

The Chairman of the state PDP chapter, Augustine Nwazunku, said in a statement on Wednesday, that Umahi should apologise for making such a sinister utterance.
