The Ebonyi State Government has denied having any connection with a viral video where a team of COVID-19 Taskforce was seen forcefully dragging a young man, suspected to have contracted Coronavirus into a waiting bus.The young man in the video, however vehemently resisted the effort of the team to get him into the bus.During the struggle between the Taskforce team and the young man, one member of the team was heard in the video clip urging the young man to enter the bus, in Ikwo dialect, “BAHUNU ABAHU”, meaning “ENTER INSIDE THE BUS”; which is also enough proof that the incident took place in Ebonyi.Speaking on behalf of the government on the alleged viral video, the Special Assistant (SA) To Ebonyi State Governor On Media And Publicity, Mr. Francis Nwaze, through a Communique signed by him, said that the incident seen on the video never happened in the state, as he also urged the general public to disregard the video.Below Is The Full Text Of The Communique, Also Attached Is The Controversial Video Clip::PUBLIC NOTICEMy attention has been drawn to a video making the rounds on social media, involving a COVID-19 taskforce team forcefully dragging a suspected COVID-19 index into an ambulance, alleged to have occurred in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.Such video never emanates from Ebonyi as no such ugly incident occurred in the state. The medical team, handling COVID-19 positive patients are professionals that do their jobs professionally and these have been attested by NCDC national officials as they declare Ebonyi State as the best in Southeast in observing COVID-19 protocols.The general public and residents of Ebonyi State, in particular, are hereby urged to disregard such false information emanating from the pit of hell whose interest is to put Ebonyi State in a bad light.Let me also be remind purveyors of such falsehood that the long arms of the law will soon catch up with them if they don’t desist from it.Francis Nwaze
