Report reaching AJM NEWS desk says the governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi and some of his Aides have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus.
According to the report, Governor Umahi had in a statement personally signed by him on Saturday confirmed that he and some of his Aides tested positive for Coronavirus after carrying out COVID-19 test.
Umahi further disclosed that, presently, they are not showing any symptoms but have since isolated, in line with protocols laid down by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
The Governor directed the Deputy Governor, Kelechi Igwe, to take over the frontline coordination of the state’s fight against the pandemic to protect Ebonyi people.
The governor however, appealed to the people of Ebonyi state to take the NCDC protocols more seriously while stating that he’s working from home and will conduct all meetings virtually.
As at Friday 3rd July, Ebonyi had recorded 438 cases of COVID-19, with 357 persons discharged.

Today 4th July , Ebonyi Governor and some Aides test results returned Positive to covid 19.
Governor and Aides affected are showing no symptoms but have since isolated in line with Ncdc protocol.
Governor directs his deputy to takeover the frontline coordination of our determined fight against this pandemic to protect our people.
No regrets as we will never abandon our people at a trying period like now.
Governor requests Ebonyians to take the NCDC protocol more seriously.
I am working from home and all my meetings will be through virtual. Soonest, we will all test negative.
