PROF. CHARLES SOLUDO WINS ANAMBRA GUBER ELECTION

Former Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo has been officially declared the winner of the governorship election concluded yesterday in Anambra State.
The 61-year-old Soludo who contested on the platform of All Progressives Grand Alliance scored a total of 112,229 votes to defeat his closest rival, Valentine Ozigbo of the Peoples Democratic Party, who polled 53,807 votes, and Andy Uba of the All Progressives Congress who got 43,285 votes, while Ifeanyi Ubah of the YPP scored 21,261.
The Returning Officer of the Anambra Governorship Election, Prof. Florence Obi, announced the result on Wednesday morning at the INEC office in Awka, Anambra State.
She said: “That Charles Chukwuma Soludo of APGA, having satisfied the requirements of the law is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected”.
However, Prof. Soludo would be sworn into office by March, 2022, after the expiration of the two-term tenure of the incumbent governor, Willie Obiano, who is also of the All Progressives Grand Alliance.
Prof. Charles Chukwuma Soludo is from Isuofia in Aguata Local Government Area of Anambra State.
