Your Excellency,

OUR CANDID APPRECIATION

Your Excellency, in pursuit of your vowed determination to rewrite our electoral narratives and increase transparency in governance, you created an enabling environment for the conduct of one of the fairest and freest Local Government Elections in the state.

2. Your Excellency, on the 30th of July, 2022, the Ebonyi State Independent Electoral Commission superintended the Local Government Elections where 13 Chairmen, Vice Chairmen and 171 Ward Councilors were elected.
3. Your Excellency, in your ingenuity, you mid-wived the evolution of a Local Government System that is not only responsible but responsive to the developmental yearnings and aspirations of the people. It is heartwarming to also note that you have, since the inception of your administration in 2015, worked assiduously to institute, as a true democrat, a third tier government that is constantly being manned by democratically elected representatives of the people.
4. In order to prepare us for the leadership challenges ahead, you graciously approved a season of workshop to inundate us with the necessary skills to run with the Divine Mandate Vision.
5. Your Excellency, we are pleased to state emphatically that the workshop has provided us with huge insight on leadership, bureaucratic synergy and the basic tools for administrative successes at the Local Government level.
6. Your Excellency, Local Government, being the third tier of governance, and closest to the people, we have picked some nuggets with which to step down your uncommon leadership styles with a view to impacting on the rural populace.
7. Your Excellency, in this transition era, we are also determined to reach out to ensure effective mobilization with a view to achieving the success of all APC candidates from the State Assembly to the presidency.
8. Your Excellency, this workshop which is a product of your usual, but uncommon innovative ingenuity, has proven to be very expository, insightful, educative and apt, taking into cognizance the yearnings of the people for the delivery of more dividends of democracy.
9. The resource persons touched salient aspects of Local Government Administration, ranging from the importance of Infrastructure, Finances, Empowerment, 21st century Leadership Style, Community Synergy, improving Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), the gains of operational Primary Health Care System, information Management and Effective use of media, Integrity and Ethics for Political Officers, Code of Conduct, Governance and Politics, Security and Emergency Tips, among others.

Your Excellency, the EXCO Organizing Team gave it their best, both in terms of organization and commitment; and ensured smooth flow of all segments of the workshop.

10. Your Excellency, very amazing and astonishing is the height Ebonyi state has attained under your watch. It is indeed incredible to note that almost all the exportable World Class Resource Persons who delivered the papers are all Ebonyians.
11. Once again, thank you, Your Excellency and kindly accept always, the assurances of the warmest and deepest appreciation of the Chairmen, Vice-chairmen, Councillors elect and the Co-ordinators of the 64 Development Centres in the State.

However, a Federal High Court, sitting in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, had on Thursday, nullified the recently conducted local government area election in the state.

According to the court, the local government election, which held on July 30, 2022, contradicted the provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Rilman Fatun, in a suit No. FHC/AI/CS/151/2022, ruled that the election was undemocratic, unlawful shrouded in secrecy.
