There is no doubt about the fact that Nigeria is richly endowed with abundant human and
material resources. In spite of these riches, Nigeria has been
classified as one of the poorest countries of the world in terms of its Gross Domestic Product
(GDP), per capita income, consumption standards, provision and availability of basic needs,
shelter, poverty, unemployment and overall economic performance.

Beyond Nigeria, the concern for poverty is also expressed at the global level.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF), and Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN),
particularly reported that about 1.2 billion people were in extreme consumption poverty
globally. More than two thirds of them were in Asia and about one quarter in Sub Saharan
Africa, where Nigeria belongs.

Poverty can be defined as a state where an individual is not able to cater adequately for his or her basic needs of food, clothing and shelter; being unable to meet social and economic obligations, due to lack of gainful employment, skills for self-reliance, assets and self-esteem
and having limited access to social and economic infrastructure such as education, health,
portable water, sanitation, etc.

Though poverty cannot be totally eradicated globally, however, to lower the rate and prevalence of poverty around the the world, particularly in Nigeria, some concerned individuals and groups have come up to render assistance in their own little way to humanity through the channel of NGOs: Non-governmental Organizations.

One of these Non-governmental Organizations is the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION, located in Afikpo, precisely Ovum Imama Ozizza, Afikpo, Ebonyi State Nigeria.

Founded by Apostle Nnachi Godwin Udume in 20……, the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION runs with the vision of Giving Value To Life.

In order to achieve this great and laudable vision, the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION is committed to:

  1. Introducing Jesus Christ To Mankind
  2. Youth Employment/Empowerment
  3. Welfare For The Needy/ Widows’ Care
  4. Pastors’ Welfare
  5. Discovery & Development Of Talents
  6. Encouraging National Growth And Development, etc

Funding:
As a nonprofit organization, the JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION relies on a variety of sources for funding/sponsorship, which include: membership dues; grants from local, state, and federal agencies, as well as foreign governments; and private donations from well spirited individuals and ministeries/organisations.

Every privileged person should see it as a responsibility we owe society by putting smiles on the faces of the poor and less privileged among us.

Recent Activities:
The JOY & PEACE FOUNDATION recently put a smile on the faces of over 50 widows by providing them with clothing materials, and also took care of a reasonable number of Senior Citizens (elderly men) by giving them food and cash gift.

Challenge:
One major challenge facing our organisation is limited funds/resources, which in turn hampers our plans of reaching out to more of these less privileged brothers and sisters of ours.
In that regard, we request your financial, material support and partnership, to get our aforementioned vision and mission achieved, even as you come across this article.

Remember, every privileged person should see it as a responsibility we owe our society by putting smiles on the faces of the poor and less privileged among us .

May God Bless You Richly As You Heed To This Clarion Call!

Thanks!
