KANU’S TRIAL: JUSTICE BINTA NYAKO WARNS DSS AGAINST TAKING OVER COURT SECURITY BEFORE 12PM ON WEDNESDAY, 16
Justice Nyako
AJM NEWS
Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has directed the Department of the State Services, DSS, not to take over the security arrangement of the court on February 16 until 12 pm when the trial of the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu on terrorism charges will kick-off.
The decision of the judge is to allow other judges to attend to other cases slated for their respective courts. Justice Nyako noted with regret that trials of other cases have been aborted and made to suffer unnecessary adjournments each time Kanu’s trial takes place due to heavy security presence and blockade of roads leading to the court.
To ensure that other cases are accommodated before the commencement of Kanu’s trial, Justice Nyako shifted the terrorism trial till 1 pm on Wednesday, February 16. The judge told DSS Director of Legal Services to convey the court’s decision to the highest authority of the service for implementation in the interest of justice to other litigants. A 15-count terrorism charge was on Wednesday, January 19 slammed on Nnamdi Kanu by the Federal Government. He pleaded not guilty to the charges and asked the court to discharge and acquit him without standing trial because the charges were incurably defective and not worth being defended.
Kanu claimed that the charges, which he denied upon arraignment, were incompetent, invalid and have no force of law. The alleged secessionist, through his counsel, Chief Mike Ozekhome SAN, said that the offences brought against him were committed in the United Kingdom, outside the shores of Nigeria. Kanu’s two motions on notice, one questioning the validity of the charges and the other seeking bail are billed for hearing on February 16, 2022
POLICE ARREST DCP ABBA KYARI, 4 OTHER POLICE OFFICERS FOR ALLEGATIONS OF TAMPERING WITH NARCOTIC EXHIBITS, OFFICIAL CORRUPTION AND SUNDRY UNPROFESSIONAL INFRACTIONS
DCP Abba Kyari
As IGP Orders Immediate Transfer of Case to NDLEA, Charges NDLEA to Investigate indicted officers of the Agency
AJM NEWS
The Nigeria Police Force has arrested DCP Abba Kyari and four other police officers for their involvement in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy, discreditable, unethical, and unprofessional conduct, official corruption and tampering with exhibits in a case of illicit drug trafficking involving a perpetual transnational drug cartel. The arrest of the officers was sequel to pieces of information received from the leadership of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) on 10th February, 2022. In line with standard administrative procedure of the Force, the Inspector General of Police ordered a high-level, discreet, and in-house investigation into the allegations. The interim investigations report revealed that two (2) international drug couriers identified as Chibunna Patrick Umeibe and Emeka Alphonsus, both males, were arrested at Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu on the 19th of January, 2022 upon their arrival from Addis Ababa aboard an Ethiopian Airlines flight ET917. The arrest led to the recovery of substantial quantity of powdery substance suspected to be cocaine from the two narcotic couriers. The operation which was intelligence-driven, was undertaken by a Unit of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT). Although the case and the two suspects were subsequently transferred to the NDLEA on the 25th January, 2022, the findings of the in-house investigation ordered by the Inspector General of Police established reasonable grounds for strong suspicion that the IRT officers involved in the operation could have been involved in some underhand and unprofessional dealings as well as official corruption which compromised ethical standards in their dealings with the suspects and exhibits recovered. Beyond this, the Police investigation also established that the international narcotics cartel involved in this case have strong ties with some officers of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu who are on their pay roll. The two arrested drug couriers confirmed that the modus is for the transnational drug barons to conspire with the NDLEA officers on duty and send them their pre-boarding photographs for identification, seamless clearance, and unhindered passage out of the airport with the narcotics being trafficked. The two arrested drug couriers also confirmed that they have been enjoying this relationship with the NDLEA officers at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport since 2021 and had in this instant case of 19th January, 2022, been identified and cleared by the NDLEA officers as customary, having received their pre-departure photographs and other details prior to their arrival in Enugu, and were on their way out with the narcotics when they were apprehended by the Police. The Police investigations report also indicted DCP Abba Kyari, who had been on suspension for his alleged involvement in a different fraud case being investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI), for complicity in the allegation of official corruption, tampering with narcotics exhibit and sundry unprofessional conducts that negate the standard administrative and investigative protocols of the Force as well as extant criminal laws. It is to be emphasised that DCP Abba Kyari’s involvement in these allegation occurred while his suspension from service was subsisting. On the strength of the findings of the in-house Police Investigation Panel, the Inspector-General of Police has ordered the immediate arrest and transfer of all the indicted police officers to the NDLEA authorities for conclusive investigation, while appropriate disciplinary actions are also being initiated against them by the Force leadership. The concerned officers include DCP Abba Kyari, ACP Sunday Ubuah, ASP Bawa James, ASP John Umoru (at large), Inspr. Simon Agrigba and John Nuhu. They have all been, accordingly, handed over today 14th February, 2022 to the NDLEA authorities. In so doing, the Inspector General of Police has also formally requested that the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency should ensure the identification, arrest and investigation of the Agency’s officers who have also been found to be colluding with the international drug cartel involved in this case towards advancing the anti-narcotics agenda of the federal Government. The Inspector General of Police assures the public of his administration’s commitment to upholding the tenets and values of policing in line with the agenda of ethical regeneration, restoration of professional standard, enhancement of the anti-corruption drive, respect for the rule of law and inter-agency collaboration in the drive to stabilise the internal security order of the country.
E-SIGNED CSP OLUMUYIWA ADEJOBI, mnipr, mipra DEPUTY FORCE PUBLIC RELATIONS OFFICER FORCE HEADQUARTERS ABUJA
NNAMDI KANU IS YOUR SAVIOUR, DON’T ANTAGONISE HIM, YORUBA LEADER, PA ADEBANJO WARNS NDIGBO
Nnamdi Kanu
{….But for Nnamdi Kanu, but for Sunday Igboho, restructuring won’t be in the front burner of discussions in the country today. Both of them brought the issue to the front burner~ ADEBANJO }
AJM NEWS
The leader of the Yoruba socio-cultural group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, has advised Igbo leaders not to antagonise the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The IPOB leader breached the bail conditions granted him by Justice Binta Nyako before whom he was standing trial in 2017.
He was, however, rearrested in Kenya in June 2021 and brought back to Nigeria to continue his trial. Since his extradition, Kanu has been in the custody of the Department of State Service (DSS).
The Federal Government on Monday, January 17, filed a fresh 15-count terrorism charge against him, thereby increasing the counts in the initial charge bordering on treasonable felony from seven to 15.
The 15-count amended charge marked FHC/ABJ/ CR/383/2015 was signed by the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) M. B. Abubakar.
But in an exclusive chat with TheNiche, Adebanjo said Kanu committed no crime and cautioned Ndigbo against alienating him.
“I have told Igbo leaders, do not antagonise IPOB,” he said.
Though Adebanjo said he has never met Kanu, he is of the opinion that the embattled IPOB leader will be Igbo saviour.
“I have never met Nnamdi Kanu but I say, don’t antagonise him because he will be your (Igbo) saviour.”
Giving the reason for his assertion, Adebanjo, who was a protégé of the late sage, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, said, “But for Nnamdi Kanu, but for Sunday Igboho, restructuring won’t be in the front burner of discussions in the country today.
“Both of them brought the issue to the front burner.”
The 93-year-old Yoruba leader regreted that just when the issue of restructuring was gathering momentum, a bait of who will be the President was thrown to the Igbo and an otherwise proud, intelligent people with all their education are allowing those he said have only primary school education to dribble them.
Adebanjo said Ndigbo don’t know the asset they have in IPOB.
If IPOB can mobilise the people and say don’t go out, and in spite of the position of the governors, no one goes out, that is significant.”
Adebanjo, who insisted that the issue of mobilisation was important because he does not trust the Fulani, said he is giving the same advice to the Yoruba.
“I don’t trust any Fulani man. And as I told Governor Akeredolu, it is alright for you to pass a resolution, but before that, rally your people, no restructuring, no election.
“Go and mobilise. That is where your weapon lies. Don’t fight them with violence because the Fulani are all over the country.
“They are in your village and my village. And all of them are armed. They will run over you.
“But we have one weapon with which we can defeat them hands down, and that is civil disobedience.
“If we don’t take part in this election, let Buhari go on. Some say that is a difficult thing, but I am happy they are saying it is difficult, not that it is impossible.
“If you cannot fight a difficult battle, then go and submit yourself to slavery.”
Adebanjo said it was wrong for Igbo leaders to beg President Muhammadu Buhari to release Nnamdi Kanu.
“When they did that, I said, ‘oh, my God’. I was ashamed. And to imagine that Mbazulike Amechi led that delegation.
“Amechi was in the trenches with us when we were fighting against the colonialists. He was leading the NCNC youth group. We were in the Action Group.
“Now, Ndigbo went to beg Buhari, a Fulani reactionary, to release your people. What have your people done’’.
“All the fight we must do now is to mobilise our people. Buhari has all the power. He has the army but we have our people.
“We don’t want this 1999 Constitution. We must change it. Then we will know where we are going.
“Just like some people say to me that ‘Igboho is for secession and you are not for secession’. I say to them, ‘I am not for secession but I don’t oppose it’.
“I don’t believe that people should secede if we have a federal constitution. But if we fail to, well, to your tents oh Israel.
“We will be in Nigeria on the basis of equality on agreed terms, no section lording it over the other. That is what will pay us. That is what we wish.
“But if it is a Nigeria with the unity of the horse and the rider, where I will be the horse and some people will be the rider, no it will not happen. This is where I stand.”
2023: A POPULAR CLERGYMAN, PRIMATE AYODELE SAYS FIDELIS NWANKWO, MR. CHRIS USULOR, AND EDWARD NKWEGU CAN’T BECOME GOVERNORS IN EBONYI COME 2023, AS HE ALSO ANNOUNCES THAT OF DELTA AND CROSS RIVER STATES
Primate Ayodele
{….He Cautioned The Aforementioned Politicians Against Spending Money On Election Campaigns Because “God Has Not Anointed Them To Lead Their States.” They Should Channel Their Money To Philanthropic Services, Than Wasting It In Election Campaigns }
AJM NEWS
The Leader Of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, on Thursday, identified some politicians who can’t succeed in their aspirations to become governors in their respective states in 2023.
In a statement signed by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, Primate Ayodele said some aspirants in Delta, Ebonyi, and Cross River states can’t become governors in 2023.
He cautioned them against spending money on election campaigns because “God has not anointed them to lead the states.”
Primate Ayodele identified the politicians as Arthur Jarvis, Daniel Asuquo, Prince Godswill Edward, Asuquo Ekpeyong, and Festus Keyamo.
He also named Great Ogboru, Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, and the deputy governor of Delta State, Kingsley Otuaro.
Furthermore, the clergyman said Fidelis Nwankwo, Mr Chris Usulor, and Edward Nkwegu can’t become governors in their respective states in 2023.
Primate Ayodele’s prophetic revelation cut across the All Progressives Congress (APC), and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the states named.
The statement reads: “For PDP in Cross River, the man of God mentioned Arthur Jarvis and Daniel Asuquo while Prince Godswill Edward, Asuquo Ekpeyong were mentioned in the APC.
“In Delta state APC, Primate Ayodele warned Minister Festus Keyamo, Great Ogboru and mentioned Senator Emmanuel Aguariavwodo, the deputy governor of the state, Kingsley Otuaro in PDP.
“In Ebonyi state, PDP’s Engr Fidelis Nwankwo, Mr Chris Usulor, and APC’s Edward Nkwegu as politicians who won’t become governor in the state in 2023.”
Ayodele urged those he identified to spend their money on philanthropic work, rather than waste it on political campaigns.
He stressed that there is a blessing in carrying out philanthropic work than spending so much on a campaign that won’t yield anything.
IPOB REJECTS ESTABLISHMENT OF EBUBEAGU SECURITY OUTFIT IN SOUTH EAST, SAYS EBUBEAGU IS FORMED TO ATTACK ESN, IPOB AND PERCEIVED POLITICAL ENEMIES
{…Ebubeagu security outfit has never been able to confront the Fulani bandits terrorising our land, but only good at humiliating innocent Biafran youths with the collaboration of security agents~ IPOB }
AJM NEWS
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) has opposed the call for the enactment of Ebubeagu security outfit in the five states of Nigeria’s southeast region.
Apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo had through its President General, Prof. George Obiozor, asked the southeast governors to set up the Ebubeagu security outfit as agreed during their meeting in Owerri, Imo state capital.
But IPOB stated that the Ebubeagu security outfit has no place in the protection of lives and property in the region. IPOB spokesman, Emma Powerful in a statement said that enacting the outfit was not in the interest of the region. IPOB rejected the suggestion “to re-establish the ridiculous, weak and unpopular Ebubeagu security outfit that has never been able to confront the Fulani bandits terrorizing our ancestral land but only good at humiliating innocent Biafra youths with the collaboration of security agents.
“We want to make it categorically clear to Ohanaeze Ndigbo and its co-travellers that any attempt to re-establish Ebubeagu security outfit in South East will further worsen the precarious security situation in the zone. They should understand that our gallant Eastern Security Network (ESN) operatives have been sacrificing so dearly to secure our ancestral land.
“But instead of complementing the efforts of ESN and IPOB to secure and defend our land against Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen, these saboteurs disguising as Ebubeagu security operatives give information on ESN to the wicked Nigeria security agencies. Because of this treachery, IPOB and ESN cannot operate together with Ebubeagu with undefined mission.
“It is on record that southeast governors have ulterior motives in forming Ebubeagu security outfit and we have not seen them as a sincere outfit to secure or protect our mothers, wives and sisters in the whole of Biafraland.
“Prof. George Obiozor and his Ohaneze Ndigbo should not take our calmness for weakness and cowardice. They should not test the will of our people because we have no confidence in Ebubeagu. The formation of Ebubeagu from every indication was to counter the efforts of our Leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu towards Biafra restoration.
“South East governors have no plan to protect our land but formed Ebubeagu to attack ESN, IPOB and perceived political enemies. George Obiozor and Ohaneze Ndigbo should not set Igbo land on fire.
“ESN/IPOB are ready to resist them anytime they are re-launched, and Biafrans should hold George Obiozor and Ohaneze Ndigbo responsible for anything that happens. They will regret any attempt to resurrect or re-launch this treacherous outfit that has sabotaged our march towards freedom.
“Since Prof George Obiozor and his Ohaneze Ndigbo support them to kill any IPOB and ESN member, they should understand that we will no longer allow them to waste innocent Biafran youths.
“Many IPOB and ESN operatives tracked and killed were done by Ebubeagu sponsored by SOUTH East governors and this time around, it is not going to be business as usual. Our intention has never been to attack our people or innocent people except Fulani terrorists masquerading as herdsmen and rampaging in our territory. But instead of complementing the patriotic efforts of our men, these sabotures rather turn their weapons against our men in the desperation of their sponsors to curry favour from the Fulani cabal ruling the contraption called Nigeria.
“Our intelligence revealed that most atrocities committed in our land were perpetrated by Ebubeagu with the intent to implicate IPOB and ESN. Prof. George Obiozor should tread with caution.”
Some indigenes of Ebonyi have asked the Federal High Court, Abuja to invalidate the laws establishing the Ebubeagu Security Agency of Ebonyi as well as the Cyber Crime (Prohibition) law 2021 enacted by the State House of Assembly.
This is contained in two separate suits filed by the indigenes questioning the legality and constitutional powers of the Ebonyi government to enact such laws.
In an originating summons marked FHC/ABJ/CS/114/2022, the Incorporated Trustees of Patriotic Youth Organization and Mr Solomon Ukpai have challenged the constitutional competence of the state government to establish the Ebubeagu Security Agency.
According to them, such powers are exclusively rested with the President.
The plaintiffs listed the President, the National Security Adviser; the Attorney -General of the Federation; the Inspector -General of Police; the Department of State Services, (DSS); the Attorney- General of Ebonyi and Ebonyi House of Assembly as defendants in the suit.
In their originating summons dated Jan. 31 and filed by their counsel, Mr Okoro Nkemakolam, the plaintiffs prayed the court to declare that the creation and or establishment of the Ebubeagu Security Agency in the state by the state government was illegal and ultra vires the executive powers of the state in view of the relevant statutory provisions.
Specifically, they urged the court to declare that by the combined provisions of Sections 4(1,2,3,5, 6 & 7), items 2, 38, 45 & 68 of the second schedule part 1, of the 1999 Constitution, the Ebonyi House of Assembly had no legislative competence, and constitutional powers whatsoever, to legislate or make any law, creating Ebubeagu Security Agency in the state.
They maintained that by the above provisions of the law, the court should further declare that any issue pertaining to arms and ammunition, army, police and any other government security services established by law, was within the exclusive legislative competence of the National Assembly.
The plaintiffs further argued that the arming of Ebubeagu Security Agency in Ebonyi with sophisticated weapons by the state government, without the requisite approvals from the President and the Inspector- General of Police was against the provisions of the law.
“Particularly Sections 3 and 4 of the Firearms Act, and it also contravenes the provisions of item 2, of the second schedule part 1, of the constitution.”
Accordingly, the plaintiffs are seeking an order of injunction restraining the Ebonyi government from sponsoring, using, creating and further establishing by law, any other government security outfits in the state.
They asked the court to make an order restraining the inspector-general of Police and the DSS from supervising, coordinating, funding and providing any form of logistics or tactical support to the Ebubeagu Security Agency in the state in contravention of relevant laws.
They equally asked for an order directing the inspector- general of Police and the DSS to arrest and prosecute any member of the security outfit who was found operating as such, after the judgment of the court.
In the second suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/112/2022, the plaintiff, Mr Lazarus Eze urged the court to declare the entire Cybercrimes (Prohibition) Law 2021, enacted by the Ebonyi House of Assembly null and void on the grounds that it was inconsistent with the provisions of the Cybercrimes(Prohibition) Prevention Act, Etc), enacted by the National Assembly.
He prayed the court for an order nullifying, invalidating all steps are taken, decisions, resolutions or publication of names of any of the plaintiffs, or indigene of Ebonyi on the government’s watchlist and prosecution, conviction, sentencing and incarceration of any of the plaintiffs or any indigene, pursuant to the Cybercrimes (Prohibition) Law, 2021, enacted into law by the state government.
MAN VOWS TO DRAG AIR PEACE TO COURT FOR ITS VICIOUS AND ABUSIVE CONDUCT TOWARDS CUSTOMERS
Air Peace
{….The Flight Was Rescheduled From 4:25pm To 8:10pm, 8:10pm To 10:00pm, 10:00pm To 11:00pm, And Finally The Flight Took Off By 11:43pm, Got To Lagos By 12:33am Midnight }
AJM NEWS
Emeka Ugwuonye, Esquire, International Attorney and Facilitator of Movement for Peaceful Change (MPC) is suing the AIR PEACE, and here’s how he explained this event:
Yesterday, after a court hearing in Abuja, I was billed to fly back to Lagos. I had a 4:25pm Air Peace flight. I got to the airport by 2pm. At the check-in counter, I was told that my flight had been rescheduled for 8:10pm. I wondered why no message was sent to inform me.
In any event, I had to wait at the lounge for the 8:10pm flight. I had to cancel my meetings with my staff in Lagos. My driver was already at the airport. At 8:10pm, Air Peace did not call for boarding. By 9pm, they announced that my flight had been moved again to 10pm. At this point, I tried to go back to Abuja town, as I felt it would be too late for me to travel from Lagos airport to my home in Ikoyi. However, Air Peace could not give me my luggage because they had flown my luggage to Lagos on the earlier flight they told me was delayed. So, I was forced to stay back at the Abuja airport.
By 10pm, they announced that the flight has been moved again to 11pm. Finally, the 4:25pm flight took off by 11:43pm and we arrived Lagos by 12:33am. I spent over an hour at the airport trying to find my luggage where the airline kept it. I went through an ordeal to get home by by 3am.
When I sat back and analyzed what happened, I saw a vicious airline operator which has total disregard for Nigerians and which could toy with my life and which put me through extreme pain and suffering. I became convinced that unless I drag Air Peace through the courts, it will continue in such vicious and abusive conduct. I have therefore directed our lawyers to start the process of suing Air Peace for damages. I believe this action will be in public interest.
WE CAN’T REMAIN A LAUGHING STOCK, NIGERIA MUST BE FIXED URGENTLY- SAM OHUABUNWA
Dr. Sam Ohuabunwa
{…Nigeria Is In Bad Shape And Needs Fixing Urgently. We Cannot Afford To Remain A Laughing Stock Among Comity Of Nations Globally~ OHUABUNWA }
AJM NEWS
A Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential aspirant, Mazi Dr Sam Ohuabunwa disclosed that Nigeria is in bad shape, saying the country desperately needs fixing.
The presidential hopeful, who was in Osogbo, Osun state capital to consult with members of the PDP in the state on his ambition, said the country has not been lucky to have men of vision at the helms of affairs, hence his decision to run for the presidency.
Nigeria is in bad shape and needs fixing urgently. We cannot afford to remain a laughing stock among comity of nations globally. We need people with transforming vision to lead the country and that is the reason I decided to offer myself to serve the populace.
Today, Nigeria has a large population of unemployed and underemployed youths, that is a threat to the peace and unity of the country. We cannot afford to continue in that direction, enough is enough”, he said
Speaking on the propriety of rotating the presidency, he opined that, “in the interest of peace, unity and inclusiveness, the country have to operate certain offices between the north and the south. I believe a time will come, when we may no longer have any need for rotation, but for now, that is the way to go”.
He added that the PDP has a second chance to rule the country but must first embrace righteousness in its activities, stressing the need to focus on improving the lots of the masses.
“PDP must change from its old ways, we must begin to focus on the people not on the party. If it doesn’t change to a people-centred party, then it may not have another chance at the presidency.
“The PDP must also act righteously to get another chance, we must be able to see through every aspirants and act with righteousness to pick a man that can lead Nigeria to the promise land.
“Who ever wants to rule Nigeria must be ready for sacrifice, he must be ready to meet the demands of the people and also pay the ultimate price for the sake of the masses”, he added.
Osun PDP chairman, Mr Sunday Bisi, While adopting the submission of the party members, the party Chairman, Sunday Bisi said the party, like Mazi Ohuabunwa, seek a better Nigeria and the aspirant has shown the quality needed for such project.
He expressed optimism that an Ohuabunwa presidency could pull Nigeria out of the trenches to greatness.
UNSEAL THE PDP STATE SECRETARIAT YOU LOCKED SINCE 2019, RELEASE THE EBONYI PDP SPOKESPERSON YOU DETAINED IMMEDIATELY, ATIKU TELLS UMAHI
Atiku Abubakar
{…Umahi Does Not Have Sufficient Patience When It Comes To His Own Personal Ambition Of Becoming The President, He Breezed In A Brutal Manner And Took The Secretariat Of The Peoples Democratic Party, That’s A Very Heinous Act, That Is The Height Of Brutality And Wickedness~ ATIKU }
AJM NEWS
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar on Thursday urged Governor Dave Umahi of Ebonyi State to immediately unseal the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) State Secretariat that has been shut since 2019.
He said it is uncalled for that the state government refuses to unseal the secretariat as the 2023 election approaches. Speaking through Raymond Dokpesi, Chairman of the Technical Committee for the actualisation of Atiku Abubakar presidential ambition, he said Umahi should also consider releasing Nwoba Chika Nwoba, the party’s Publicity Secretary, from police custody after he was seized over alleged fake news and cybercrime.
“I remember vividly when I came here on two, three occasions, the first one was when I was contesting for chairman of the party, this governor met me at Abuja after I have visited here to plead with him to step down for the chairmanship race for the overall interest of the party and in the overall interested of the Federal Government.
“This same man does not have sufficient patience when it comes to his own personal ambition of becoming the president, he breezed in a brutal manner and took the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party, that a very heinous act, that is the height of brutality and wickedness.
“And I call on him to, at this point in time, return the secretariat to the PDP of the Southeast party, let me also call on him to immediately release of the PDP officer whom he has taken to court with trump up charges, we are all supposed to be democratic, not tyrants. People have a right to a different opinion and must not be incriminated and dealt with in such a heinous manner.
“I want to call on all members of the Peoples Democratic Party in this place to remain resilient, I believe very shortly you will be hearing some good news for the head waiters of this very party, this maltreatment cannot be sustained.
“I’m here on behalf of Atiku Abubakar to consult with you to express deep appreciation to you for the support you gave to me in Port Harcourt 2018 and thank you for giving me about 70 per cent of the total vote cast in 2019 general elections.
“But like I said the 2019 election which we contested, the APC, the ruling party, appropriated, diverted the outcome to themselves. And as law-abiding citizens since the Supreme Court pronounced on it we had to start preparing for the next elections which are scheduled for February next year. We pray and hope that the government will sign into law the new electoral act, that we are able to have some transparent open election in February next year,” he told journalists in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital.
