THE MAN, ANYIM PIUS ANYIM AND HIS PROMISE OF MAKING NIGERIA FLOURISH

Anyim Pius Anyim

{…The Leadership Vacuum That Led To The Agitations Of Marginalization By Youths Of The South-East Region Was Caused By Men Like Anyim}

(Written And Sent By Comrade John Chukwu)

AJM NEWS

I can bodily say, without fear of contradiction, that Chief Anyim Pius Anyim is one of the problems of Ebonyi State and the South-East region.
It is not the APC.
It is not President Mohammadu Buhari.

Since I saw the images portraying him as a presidential hopeful in the forthcoming 2023 election and as recipient of the supposedly prestigious Zik award for political leadership, I have searched the length and breath of Ebonyi and the South-East to pin point any of his impacts to no avail.

That there’s insecurity and instability in the South-East today is because of men like Anyim who wasted all the opportunities that would have bettered the lives of the people of the South-East region.
Sometimes we should look inwards when we cry of marginalization and being shortchanged.

Anyim Pius Anyim was president of the Nigerian Senate from 2000-2003 and Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) from 2011-2015 under President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan.
During his years as SGF he was also the Coordinating Minister and most powerful and influential person in the Jonathan’s administration.
He never bothered about the completion of the 2nd Niger Bridge.
The Enugu-Onitsha road and other major federal roads in the South-East were never his problem.
What is one thing Anyim did for Ebonyi State? Absolutely nothing!

Talk about Ebonyi South Senatorial District. I am from Okposi Okwu in Ohaozara LGA, and I can confidently tell you that there’s no single project you can attribute to Anyim Pius.
The only legacy he has maintained in Ebonyi is fighting every sitting governor of the state over control of structures and resources.
He fought Gov. Sam O. Egwu, Gov. Martins Elechi, and now Gov. Dave Umahi, all for selfish interests.

I have no problems with Anyim Pius Anyim’s presidential ambition. My problem is with his claim that he wants to rescue Nigeria and make her flourish. The one he couldn’t rescue nor flourish as Senate President or SGF?

I also do not have problems with the organizers of the Zik’s award giving Anyim award. But they should have done us some good by rightly stating the reason for the award. Maybe an appreciation of his financial donations or other favours done to the foundation, definitely not for political leadership.

The leadership vacuum that led to the agitations of marginalization by youths of the South-East region was caused by men like Anyim.

It is high time we stopped following politicians blindly or for the crumbs that fall from their tables.
Anyim Pius and his types should bury their heads in shame.
Every young person in Ebonyi State and the South-East region should ask him what he did with the golden opportunities he had in Aso rock, before he talks about rescuing Nigeria and making

My name is Comr. John Chukwu
I Can’t Endure It Again!

OGIDI YOUTH PRESIDENT MURDERED BY SUSPECTED CULTISTS, PROBABLY ON A REVENGE MISSION

OGIDI YOUTH PRESIDENT MURDERED BY SUSPECTED CULTISTS, PROBABLY ON A REVENGE MISSION

The Murdered Youth President

AJM NEWS

The photo you are seeing is that of Mr. Ogomegbunam Aniekwena, the Youth President of Ogidi in Idemili North Local Government Area of Anambra State.

According to information gathered by AJM NEWS, the Youth President who was elected couple of months ago, was very out to stop the increasing rate of cultism and activities of other criminal elements in Ogidi.

Mr. Ogomegbunam was once seen in viral photos and video clips flogging a young man from Ogidi for allegedly beating up an elderly woman mercilessly.

Testimonies gotten from the youths and people of Ogidi show that the rate of crime in the town has really reduced since the new Youth Leader took office.

However, tragedy struck yesterday as some unidentified group of boys attacked him in one of the village bars where he was cooling off, killing him and three others with him.

The town of Ogidi has been calm and in a moody state following the unexpected killing of this vibrant Youth Leader; as many believe that his killers could be from among those he had ‘Treated Their Fuck-up’.

HOW DID WE OFFEND AFIKPO NORTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, BARR. OBIAGERI OKO ENYIM?

HOW DID WE OFFEND AFIKPO NORTH COUNCIL CHAIRMAN, BARR. OBIAGERI OKO ENYIM?

Uji Ndibe Bridge, Afikpo

AJM NEWS

The attached photo shows the present state of the abandoned Uji Ndibe Bridge, leading to the popular Ndibe Beach in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

Nkpoghoro community, Enohia Nkalu and other road users who ply the Ndibe Beach route were managing this road until the council Chairman and her team came and destroyed the culvert at Uji, with the promise of constructing a standard bridge.

Up till this very moment, the Chairman has not deemed it necessary to hasten the construction of this bridge, even as the Christmas season is fast approaching.
The kind of stress and difficulties our people will go through using the Water Works Road (which is now the only alternative route) during the Yuletide and new year seasons would be unimaginable, if the Uji Bridge is not fixed now.

Moreover, the Water Works Road is not meant to carry the kind of very heavy loads it’s carrying now; if nothing is done speedily to save the situation, that very bridge at Water Works will collapse, by then Church Agbasa!

As I write now, all the businesses located around the Uji Ndibe axis have died completely; shop owners in the area have locked up their shops because nothing is happening there any longer. By January, these same people that the Chairman has indirectly thrown out of business will still source for money to pay their landlords, to avoid being ejected from their shops.

Honestly, the punishment that the people of Nkpoghoro and other road users have gone through because of this ‘demolished and abandoned’ Uji Bridge is enough to make the council Chairman have pity on the people and take decisive action towards completing the project, no matter how painful it may be to her. Even if it means borrowing money, let her go and borrow to fix the bridge, it would give her honour at last.

Finally, what we cannot take from the Chairman or any other politician(s) is deliberately delaying the completion of the project till campaign period, probably to use it as a platform for political cum election campaign. We cannot accept that!

Uji Ndibe Bridge should not be abandoned or politicised like Afikpo Light; let it be fixed now, the people have suffered enough!

THE PIONEER OF YOUTH O’CLOCK MOVEMENT IN EBONYI STATE, COMRADE TONY USULOR CLEARS HIS BATTERED IMAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

THE PIONEER OF YOUTH O’CLOCK MOVEMENT IN EBONYI STATE, COMRADE TONY USULOR CLEARS HIS BATTERED IMAGE ON SOCIAL MEDIA

Comrade Usulor

AJM NEWS
Otu Obiahu

Comrade Tony Usulor who is the acclaimed founder of YOUTH O’CLOCK MOVEMENT in Ebonyi State, is eyeing the first seat of the state, which led to the formation of the Youth O’clock Movement.

Usulor had from the beginning of the movement gained the support of so many youths across the state, which greater number of them are from Ezza, his kindred.

Recently, some of the followers and supporters of Comrade Tony Usulor’s YOUTH O’CLOCK MOVEMENT had raised serious accusations against Usulor bothering on job scandal, which also went viral on social media.

Most of the accusers alleged that Comrade Usulor collected huge sums of money from the members of the YOUTH O’CLOCK MOVEMENT who are looking for jobs, with a very strong promise of giving them jobs in federal parastatals, which up till this very moment he has not been able to fulfil what he promised.

However, Comrade Usulor has denied collecting money from any person or group for the purpose of securing job for such individuals.

He said those accusing him of collecting money from them are doing so to tarnish his already built reputation, inorder to stop his political ambition for their preferred candidate.

He said: “Am not surprised because election is fast approaching and they have seen someone, Comr Tony Usulor preparing for the contest and they want to stop him.

“They have their preferred candidate which they are using such calumny against me to pave way for his emergence in the guber party primary.

AJM NEWS gathered that one of the aggrieved persons, Barr. Sampson Ekigbo who is also a Presiding Judge, Ebonyi State Customary Court, had earlier warned Comrade Usulor to accept responsibility for his deeds, refund the money he gave to him on behalf of his unemployed brother, or be ready to meet him in court.

Barr. Ekigbo in one of the chats with Usulor wrote:

“Stop this, be a gentleman by doing the needful for once.

“You are creating more tension for yourself and family.

“If I make open the evidence I have against you and your family, you may spend this Christmas in jail, I repeat in Jail.

“Be a man for once and take responsibility of your actions. That only will define your integrity and personality.

“Tony, you may get more support base for admitting your culpability than this deceitful approach.

“If you like, yield to this free advice, but, remember, if you fail to be a man, I will have no choice than to approach your actions from a legal preceptive.

“I pray God to give you the enablement to yield to this Clarion call.

“I am

Sampson I. Ekigbo, Esq
Barrister and Solicitor,
Supreme Court of Nigeria
&
A Presiding Judge,
Ebonyi State Customary Court”.

Meanwhile, Comrade Tony Usulor has gone to his Facebook handle to make more clarifications on what really transpired between him and his supporters, who are now pointing accusing fingers at him

He wrote:

“I was preparing for work and my phone rang, grin, grin grin with a private number and I picked it thinking it’s from my friend in London.

Me: Hello, may I know you pls?

Caller: It’s me chief Odikpo.

Me: Can I help you sir?

Caller: I need some clarifications from you.

Me: On what?

Caller: Your name have gone viral on social media.

Me: How?

Caller: It was alleged that you collected money from many people to give them Fed govt jobs and you never delivered.

Me: It’s not true, is there any place they sell Fed govt jobs to applicants?.

Caller: But how come they are tarnishing your image on social media?

Me: Am not surprise because election is fast approaching and they have seen someone, Comr Tony Usulor preparing for the contest and they want to stop him.

Caller: But what do they stand to gain In destroying your reputation?

Me: They have their preferred candidate which they are using such calumny against me to pave way for his emergence in the guber party primary.

Caller: But the first person that wrote on social media by name Ichie Tochukwu NWORIE is your brother and and a strong supporter of YOUTH O’CLOCK, how come?

Me: Am not surprised because Judas Iscariot that betrayed Jesus was also among the disciples. He played that role but the end shall justify the means.

Caller: Back to the job scandal that you were accused, throw more light there sir. What happened?

Me: Well, I was only trying to see if I can help our unemployed youths secure jobs through my friends in the ministry but it has not worked out but am very optimistic that some lucky ones among them will get their letters of appointment this year by His grace.

Caller: One Jeremiah obaji also said you collected over 100 CVs with money promising to give them jobs. Is it not too much?

Me: I stopped taking Jeremiah obaji serious when he always advice every unemployed graduate to leave Ebonyi and look for what to do in Lagos as if he is better than those in Ebonyi. He should better concentrate on his sale of G-pee tanks and plumbing materials rather than belittling our youths in Ebonyi because nobody knows tmoro. I will even collect more CVs if there is need for it again.

Caller: why?

Me: Because it’s better you submit like 10 CVs in one establishment so that if one or two scales through, you thank God. It’s not compulsory that all of them will come out except the lucky ones so there is need to submit many CVs in any govt agency that one has the opportunity.

Caller: But that is not the method being used by Hon.Chinedu Ogah and Hon. Peter Ede whom many have testified that they got job through them. Why is your own different?

Me: Am not in govt but they are house of representatives members who are close to the corridors of power that do have slots from different govt agencies and parastatals, so their approach may be different from mine that is an ordinary business man who is not in govt.

Caller: But did you collect money from those applicants?

Me: For the second time, capital “NO” sir.

Caller: But Barr. Ekigbo has threatened taking you to court if after 30days you fail to refund him his money given to you for Fed govt job for his applicant brother.

Me: How much do he said that he gave me?

Caller: 50k

Me: If he shows any evidence, I will give him 500k to secure jobs for ten of my youth O’CLOCK members that are really in need of those jobs now.

Caller: What if he comes up with an evidence against you and finally sue you to court?

Me: Hahahahaha, Barr. Ekigbo is a lawyer that knows his onions and I have much respect for him. He won’t descend so low to play into the hands of his enemies by taking to such action but if he does, I will honour the court invitation. Am of the opinion that they hacked his account, if not, how come the post gave me 30 days in a criminal matter of such magnitude and to make matters worse the writer even copied, Prof odoh, Nweke chidi, and others. I repeat, Barr Ekigbo is not a “charge and bail” lawyer as you think and I assure you that he won’t dare it.

Caller: What if he decides to?

Me: Well, I will still appear in court but that means he has allowed his enemies to get at him and for him to accept such counsel means the devil has succeeded on him. Let’s watch.

Caller: What if many people rise up against you on the same issue?

Me: That will amount to defamation of character and I will deal with it on merit because I won’t allow anyone to tarnish my image.

Caller: But Awoke Kelvin claimed he gave you 2.8m to secure job for his brother.

Me: Don’t mind him, I know his problem. I didn’t attend his wedding ceremony and he is not happy with me but he is taking it too far. If you know him, advice him to be calm, I will give him wedding presence by this December. It’s just that I had tight schedule on the day of his wedding ceremony. I still have many others like that in my list that I will visit during Xmas with their wedding gift. Charles Iteshi, hope am communicating?

Caller: But why is 90% of your critics are from Ezza nation?

Me: The greatest enemy of a man is always from his household.
If it were not so, I would have been afraid that I won’t make it in the guber race.
This is a fulfillment of a Prophecy my dear beloved comrade.

Caller: What do you have to tell your YOUTH O’CLOCK members?

Me: They should be calm and I promise them that 2023 is our year in Ebonyi state.
Those people writing against me on social media have their own preferred candidate in the guber race and they feel they can use the calumny against me to pave way for their choice candidate who have seen me as a threat to his emergence in the guber party primary election.

Caller: But why has it taken you so long to respond to these allegations?

Me: There is hunger in the land and I intentionally allowed the so called media influencers to benefit more cash from the guber aspirant that didn’t want to stand an election with me in the guber party primary because he knows that i will defeat him.

Caller: Its noted, thanks for giving me your attention my senior Comrade.

Me: I thank you too.
Do well to send my greetings to my brother, Ichie Tochukwu NWORIE.
Cheers”.

CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA (CBN) SPENDS N58.6B TO PRINT N2.5B NAIRA NOTES

CENTRAL BANK OF NIGERIA (CBN) SPENDS N58.6BN TO PRINT 2.5BN NAIRA NOTES

Naira Notes And Coins

AJM NEWS

The Central Bank of Nigeria spent the sum of N58.618 billion to print 2.518 billion Naira notes, valued at  1.063 trillion in, 2020.

This was contained in the bank’s 2020 Currency Report posted on its website.

It indicated a decrease in the bank’s expenditure on currency printing, which stood at N75.523 billion, in 2019 and N64.040 billion, in 2018.

The current management of the CBN under the leadership of Mr. Godwin Emefiele, has been driving the cashless policy with a view to cutting the cost of printing bank notes and cash management, in the country.  The new e-Naira was also initiated in line with the policy.

According to the report, “The total cost incurred on printing of banknotes in 2020 amounted to N58,618.50 million, compared with N75,523.50 million in 2019, indicating a decrease of ₦16,905.00 million or 28.84 per cent.”

CBN indicated in the report that the notes were printed in-country by the Nigerian Security Printing and Minting Plc (NSPM Plc).

The report indicated that CBN, “approved an indent of 2,518.68 million pieces of banknotes of various denominations in 2020 to satisfy the currency needs of the economy, compared with 3,830.94 million in the preceding year.

“The NSPM Plc was awarded the contract for the production of the entire indent. At end-December 2020, NSPM Plc had delivered 100 per cent of the approved indent.”

It put the total stock of currency (issuable & non-issuable) in the vaults of the bank at end December, 2020 at 2.747 billion pieces, compared with 2.641 billion pieces in 2019, indicating an increase of 105.73 million pieces or 4.00 per cent.

“At end-December, 2020, the total issuable notes (newly printed notes and Counted Audited Clean notes) was 592.94 million pieces, compared with 726.43 million pieces in 2019, representing a decrease of 133.49 million pieces or 18.38 per cent,” the report showed.

The report also indicated that a total of $1.830 billion was procured over the course of 2020.

According to the report, “This value represents a decrease of USD2,120.00 million or 53.67 per cent relative to the USD3,950.00 million procured in 2019.

“This was used to fund Bureaux De Change (BDC) operations, payment of estacode and Personal Travel Allowances (PTA) to Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).”

CBN said that the receipt and authentication of foreign currency deposits by Deposit Money Banks (DMBs) reduced significantly due to the downturn in global trade in 2020.

The report indicated, however, that Currency-in-Circulation (CIC) increased by 19.06 per cent from N2.441 trillion at end December, 2019 to N2.907 trillion at end-December 2020.

“The growth in CIC reflected the continued dominance of cash in the economy. Analysis of the CIC shows that a greater proportion was in higher denomination banknotes (N100, N200, N500 and N1000).

“The higher denomination banknotes together accounted for 63.47 per cent and 98.08 per cent of the total CIC, in terms of volume and value, respectively. The volume of lower denomination banknotes (N5, N10, N20, N50), accounted for 28.43 per cent of the total CIC and 1.92 per cent, in terms of value as at end-December 2020.”

In 2020, a total of 173,585 boxes of banknotes valued at N980.758 billion was processed, compared with 260,651 boxes of banknotes valued at N1.533 trillion in 2019.

This represents a decrease of 33.40 per cent in the number of boxes or N552.971 billion in value of processed banknotes.

On counterfeit notes, the report showed that a total of 67,265 pieces of counterfeit notes with a nominal value of N56.83 million was confiscated in 2020, indicating a 20.80 per cent decrease in volume and 12.18 per cent decrease in value, compared with 84,934 pieces valued at N64.71 million in 2019.

It said, “The Global standard for the number of counterfeit per million is 100. The ratio of counterfeit notes to volume of banknotes in circulation was 13 pieces per million in 2020, compared to 20 pieces per million banknotes in 2019.

The N1000 and N500 denominations constituted the most counterfeited, accounting for 69.06 percent and 30.79 per cent, of the total counterfeit notes in 2020, respectively.
