Nigerians React As Buhari Breaks COVID-19 Law, Removes Face Mask In Public

NIGERIANS REACT AS BUHARI BREAKS COVID-19 LAW, REMOVES FACE MASK IN PUBLIC

{ I Will Save The Picture In Case I Am
Arrested For Not Wearing A Face Mask In Public, Says One Nigerian }

Nigerians on social media and the Peoples Democratic Party have expressed dismay over President Mohammadu Buhari’s violation of the executive order regulating COVID-19.

The law, which was recently signed
by the president, prescribes a six
month jail term for defaulters.

In some of the pictures that surfaced
online, Buhari was seen discussing
with some All Progressives
Congress’ leaders at the revalidation
of his APC membership in Daura on
Saturday without putting on a face mask or maintaining social
distancing as stipulated by the new law.
He, however, wore the mask while signing his form.

Some of the Nigerians who reacted
wondered why the president used
the mask when he wanted to take pictures and later removed it.

Obong Ekpe said, “Laws of that
nature are only made for the poor
and less powerful people in the
society especially in Nigeria. Police
can’t arrest him but (they) will arrest
me and you for committing exactly
the same crime”.

@switcandyyy said, “When the
number one man in Nigeria doesn’t
adhere to simple laid down laws, the
laws that were also made by him,
what do you expect from ordinary
citizens? Commander-in-chief of breaking of law and order”.

“They use the masks for
professional photography alone and
they take them off after
@adeyemoffn added.

@Emmanuelitunu said: I will save the picture “in case I am arrested for not wearing a face mask in public. Baba Buhari’s action is a case study”.

Nigeria Army And Police Robbing Motorists On Our Highways, Ohaneze Youths Alleges

NIGERIA ARMY AND POLICE ROBBING MOTORISTS ON OUR HIGHWAYS, OHANEZE YOUTHS ALLEGES

Otu Obiahu, AJM NEWS

The Ohanaeze Youth Council (OYC), has called for an abrupt end to the extortion of motorists and commuters by operatives of the Nigerian army who are fond of using Igbo youths living within areas of their operation to indulge in the illicit act.

OYC National President, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka while addressing news men at Awka on Saturday 30th January 2021, noted that such act, apart from the risk and danger it poses to life, is also a deliberate scheme to frustrate Igbo travellers heading to their different destinations.

Comrade Igboayaka stated that all the federal and State highways in Igbo land which include Owerri Onitsha express, Owerri Portharcourt express, Enugu-Benue express, Asaba-Benin express, Owerri-Aba express, Aba-Portharcourt express, Umuahia-Akwaibom Calabar, Enugu-Awka express etc are occupied by indiscipline and criminal mind soldiers and police who severally have shot drivers and passengers at a slight provocation because of #50 or #100.

He advised Igbo youths to resist the urge of recruiting them by Nigeria army at various checkpoint to embark on such illegal and criminal venture, adding that it exposes them to danger and corruption.

According to him, five Igbo youths died sometime last year at the military checkpoint while in the process of collecting money from motorists for the army personnel when crisis arised.

Condemning the act in its totality, Igboayaka issued a 72-hour ultimatum to the Army to desist from engaging Igbo youths to extort money for them from motorists or face massive resistance from irate youths.

Comrade Igboayaka call on the new chief of army staff Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru to act quickly to withdraw all army checkpoint, to avoid possible community clash between army and Igbo youths, stressing that henceforth any army or Igbo youth caught in act of stealing or extorting drivers will be treated like common criminal by Igbo youths across Igbo land.

NEW SERVICE CHIEFS: TIME TO CHART A NEW PATH FOR OUR SECURITY – DR. EMEKA KALU

AJM NEWS

The National Coordinator, People’s Democratic Party Coalition, Chief Dr. Emeka Kalu has charged the newly appointed service chiefs to bring in their wealth of experience to chart a clearer course of action, birth fresh ideas that will help to tackle the deteriorating security system and turn it around for the good of all.

Chief Kalu made this call through a message he sent to the press from the United States where he was to witness the just concluded handover of President Joe Biden as the 46th POTUS of America.

According to him, this was good of President Buhari to have heeded the long call of the Nigeria people to change the service chiefs as fresh ideas were necessary to put check to the escalating and uncontrollable security challenges of Nigeria, especially in the Northeast region, which has generally threatened our progress as a people.

In his words: “I received the news with a mixed feeling of joy, but was not surprised because the action was long overdue. But since it has finally come, since our endless calls have been heeded to, it is now up to the newly appointed men to hit the ground running to see how we can be able to restore peace in the NorthEast region and other affected regions fighting one form of security challenges or another.

“I have confidence in the new Chief of Army Staff, Major Gen. Attahiru, he is a man of integrity and the other Chiefs, I hold them in high esteem and urge them to do whatever they can to protect Nigerians.

“I am also appealing to all Nigerians, irrespective of tribe, religion or political leaning, to as a matter of patriotism, give their unwavering support to the men on whose shoulders now rest the duty of protecting the lives and properties of every Nigeria”, he said.

Chidi Ibe Never Contested For Ohaneze Presidency; He’s Now Inciting IPOB Against The Elected President, Obiozor, Says OYC

CHIDI IBE NEVER CONTESTED FOR OHANAEZE PRESIDENCY; HE’S NOW INCITING IPOB AGAINST THE ELECTED PRESIDENT, OBIOZOR, SAYS OYC

{…”Mr. Chidi Ibe Who Lacks Direction Wants To Use IPOB To Launch Undue Popularity And Relevance By Seeking To Incite IPOB Against The New Leadership Of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Led By Amb. George Obiozor”~ IGBOAYAKA

AJM NEWS

The National President of Ohanaeze Youth Council(OYC), the apex youth body of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Comrade Igboayaka O. Igboayaka, have revealed while addressing news men in Enugu on 21st, Jan. 2021, that Mr. Chidi Ibe who is an errand boy to Senator Rochas Okorocha never contested for the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo.

Igboayaka noted that right from time, the known candidates, the likes of Dr. Jeo Nwaorgu, Prof. Chidi Osuagwu, Dr. Chris Asoluka and Barr. Goddy Uwazurike declared interest to run for the President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo but Mr. Ibe was never in the race for Ohanaeze presidency.

“The truth must be revealed, Mr. Chidi Ibe was contracted by Sen. Rochas Okorocha after I had a meeting with Rochas Okorocha, Bar. Uche Okwukwu, former Secretary-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo at Orashi Resort Ogboko on Sunday, 3rd January 2021,” Igboayaka revealed.

Comrade Igboayaka added that he noticed the selfish agenda of Sen. Okorocha to factionalize Ohanaeze Ndigbo and he declined engaging in further meetings with Okorocha and Okwukwu and that was when the Sen. Rochas contracted his ex-commissioner, Mr Ibe to do the hatchet job for him.

“The so-called election that pronounced Chidi Ibe President of Ohanaeze Ndigbo was a mere meeting done at Spibat, Rochas Okorocha’s resident in Owerri on Saturday 9th Jan. 2021.

Comrade Igboayaka debunked a statement credited to Mr. Ibe on Vanguard newspaper, alleging that the President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Amb. George Obiozor warned Nnamdi Kanu to stop his Biafra agitation. “This is a blatant lie and a blackmail,” he said.

“Like I have stated previously, Sen. Rochas Okorocha and his errand boy Mr. Chidi Ibe want to throw Alaigbo into civil unrest by making callous statements to incite IPOB members against Ndigbo and the new leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo,” Igboayaka stated.

Comrade Igboayaka advised the State Security Service(SSS) to caution Sen. Rochas Okorocha and his errand boy to cease from making inciting statements capable of disrupting the relative peace in the South East, adding that duo makes hypocritical statements as if they love IPOB members.

“Mr. Chidi Ibe who lacks direction wants to use IPOB to launch undue popularity and relevance by seeking to incite IPOB against the new leadership of Ohanaeze Ndigbo led by Amb. George Obiozor, Igboayaka revealed.”

The youth President noted that Mr Ibe quoted the Ohanaeze president out of context in order to garner sycophantic sympathy from IPOB members.

He said the actual statement made by Amb. Obiozor was recorded live by Channels TV and NTA, stressing that those who have a contrary message from unprofessional journalists who write junks with controversial captions should look for the video record of the above mentioned TV stations.

“The lies and blackmail Mr. Chidi Ibe is peddling is very childish, because I was there during the press conference, Amb. Obiozor’s speech was written, and circulated to everyone, including the journalists. Prof. Obiozor was positive about the quest of IPOB,” Igboayaka concluded.

The Issue Of Biafra Is Beyond You, Drop Your Ambition, New Ohaneze President, Obiozor Tells Nnamdi Kanu

Obiozor And Kanu

THE ISSUE OF BIAFRA IS BEYOND YOU, DROP YOUR AMBITION, NEW OHANEZE PRESIDENT, OBIOZOR TELLS NNAMDI KANU

AJM NEWS

The new President Genera of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Professor George Obiozor has advised leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra ( IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu to bear in mind that the Igbo race is not fighting a war with anyone.

Prof Obiozor, who said this during a World Press Conference, tagged “Ohanaeze Ndigbo: The Dawn of a New Era” at Ohaneze Ndigbo Secretariat in Enugu on Wednesday, appealed to the IPOB leader to drop his ambition of calling for a separate state.

He cautioned that the Biafra Nation was beyond Kanu to decide alone and advised that all utterances and actions that could raise anti-Igbo sentiment or put Ndigbo in danger must be avoided as diplomacy is the best way to go, urging Kanu to, henceforth “toe the part of honour, listen to the voice of wisdom and drop his agitation for a separate state.”

According to him, “The Igbo nation is not at war with Nigeria and has nothing pending before any authority that demands a separate existence from Nigeria.

“Nnamdi Kanu is one of us and he must listen to some of us for several reasons. The fact and reality are that the issues of Biafra are above and beyond his capacity to decide.

“He must listen because he is one of us and we are all in this dilemma together. And our mutual and collective responsibilities are sacred and must be respected.”

While debunking the insinuations in certain quarters that as the new PG he would act as a puppet in the hands of the authorities and champion anti-Igbo interest, Obiozor reminded the Igbo that what the late Biafran leader, Chukwuemeka Ojukwu meant by ‘the bones shall rise’ didn’t mean conflict, violence and war, emphasizing that, “Definitely the bones have arisen, re-incarnated or resurrected but in Ojukwu’s idea, the mission is creative and constructive. Ndigbo are builders and not nation wreckers/destroyers.”

The former Nigerian Ambassador to the USA, however, declared the need to be assertive and positive minded saying “it is time for reality.”

He said: “The game is over for pretenders, imposters. We must be assertive, free and positive. Igbos don’t want beggarly leadership. Enough of the nonsense; the dilemma has finally come to an end”

He said that Ohanaeze Ndigbo under his leadership has the capacity to build enough consensus among the Igbos to engage Nigerians, noting that: “I have ideas of our pains and grief.”

The former Diplomat also said: “My executives are the best brains. I am ready to serve Ndigbo and my team will not disappoint.”

He pointed out that the greatest problem of Ndigbo in Nigeria is insecurity, promising that his team would ensure that security of Igbos were guaranteed. “Our greatest problem and priority is our security. Insecurity is the worst affliction of man. Without it, there is no peace.

“The security of Ndigbo is the priority of our team. We must find a way of dealing with this challenge even beyond Nigeria.

“We are the most highly exposed group of people in the country and that is because we are usually successful in whatever we do as a people.

“We must learn how to be careful. Beyond individual precaution, we could control our insecurity with knowledgeable leadership and that is not a child’s play.”

He appealed to Ndigbo not to duel “on what divide but should focus on what unites us as a people, adding that “My dream type of leadership is leadership/manager model using the most and available efficient persons and instruments to achieve Igbo collectively defined objectives.”

POLICE ABANDON VEHICLES AND FLEE, AS THEY CLASH WITH ESN IN ORLU

Otu Obiahu, AJM NEWS

Men of the Nigerian Police Force who went inside the bush in search of the members of the Eastern Security Network (ESN) in Orlu, Imo State on Friday did not find it funny and simple as usual, as they were attacked back, fire for fire by ESN vigilante team, on self-defense.
AJM NEWS gathered that the police men who could not withstand the resistance and power force of the ESN had no better option than to flee for their dear lives, leaving their vehicles behind.

One of the ESN members in the video clip said: “They want to kill us; they think we’re ordinary, but we’re not ordinary”.

Meanwhile, the Director of Radio Biafra and leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu had on several occasions warned Nigerian Security Operatives, state governors and traditional rulers in the East to desist from launching any form of attacks on the members of the Eastern Security Network, who have volunteered themselves to safeguard the entire Eastern region from the menace of Fulani herdsmen and other terrorist groups.

As regards the clash between police and ESN in Orlu, Kanu reportedly said: “#Zoo people should tell their IG of Police, Hope Uzodinma and any other foolish governor in the East daft enough to send #Zoo security forces in search of #ESN that they too will meet a similar fate or worse.

Next time they should come with that derelict attack helicopter they borrowed from Pakistan or better a fighter jet, only then shall we prove to them how prepared #ESN is. This is a mere appetizer, I am sure the main course will be served soon.

Anything found in the bush is bush meat to #ESN”.

Kalu Calls For Dedication, Love, Commitment As Panacea For PDP Growth And Success, Ahead Of 2023 Elections

KALU CALLS FOR DEDICATION, LOVE, COMMITMENT AS PANACEA FOR PDP GROWTH AND SUCCESS, AHEAD OF 2023 ELECTIONS

As the political atmosphere will soon begin to heat up towards 2023, especially with the most contested Anambra election around the corner, The National Coordinator of PDP Coalition, Chief Dr Emeka Kalu, has in his usual insistence reiterated the need for love and commitment as the only panacea to building a strong and veritable PDP that will be capable to face the tasks ahead, even as 2023 is expected to be a deciding moment for the future of our country.

Speaking to Pressmen in Anambra State where he spent the yelitude period, Chief Kalu insisted that what Anambra people needs, likewise all Nigerians, is leadership that will be anchored on providing succour to the plight of the masses, not some money-centered exercise that will only come to serve the desires of the elites while the masses continued to wallow in penury and abject poverty. This is a precedence we must collectively fight to overcome and PDP is the omly party laden with such responsibility as a progressive party.

According to him, “My commitment and dedication is as a result of my unquenchable love for the unity and growth of our great party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.

“I am totally committed to the vision of the founding fathers of our great party and I won’t rest until we reclaim power from the failed APC.

This was a sound pronouncement devoid of sentiments and an awakening call to PDP to remember that the masses still believe that only the most populous black party in the world can rescue them from the fiery claws of APC that has masterminded the awkward descend of the Nigeria state from Giant of Africa to a sleeping lion within a space of 6 years with not hope in sight.
