President Buhari Congratulates Biden, Says Nigeria Looks Forward To Greater Cooperation With The United States

Buhari And Biden

PRESIDENT BUHARI CONGRATULATES BIDEN, SAYS NIGERIA LOOKS FORWARD TO GREATER COOPERATION WITH THE UNITED STATES:

AJM NEWS

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated former Vice President Joe Biden on his election as new President of the United States “at a time of uncertainty and fear in world affairs.”

The Nigerian leader said “your election is a significant reminder that democracy is the best form of government because it offers the people the opportunity to change their government by peaceful means.”
According to President Buhari, “the most powerful group are not the politicians, but voters who can decide the fate of the politicians at the polling booth.”

He noted that “the main fascination of democracy is the freedom of choice and the supremacy of the will of the people.”

The President added that “respect for the will of the people is the very reason why democracy remains the best form of government, despite its limitations from one polity to another, and from one society to another.”

According to him, “I am thrilled by the fact that you are an experienced politician who had served as Congressman for 40 years and a Vice President for eight years. This is a remarkable track record that gives us hope that you will add value to the presidency and world affairs.”

President Buhari also noted that, “with your election, we look forward to greater cooperation between Nigeria and the United States, especially at economic, diplomatic and political levels, including the war against terrorism.”

On international affairs, President Buhari urged Mr. Biden to “deploy your vast experience in tackling the negative consequences of nationalist politics on world affairs which have created divisions, conflicts and uncertainties.”

The Nigerian leader also called on Mr. Biden “to introduce greater engagement with Africa on the basis of reciprocal respects and shared interests.”

You Cannot Continue To Decide What Happens In Nigeria; The Country Must Be Restructured, Afanifere, Ohaneze, Others Warn Northern Leaders

YOU CAN’T CONTINUE TO DECIDE WHAT HAPPENS IN NIGERIA; THE COUNTRY MUST BE RESTRUCTURED, OHANEZE, AFANIFERE, PANDEF, MIDDLE BELT TELL NORTHERN LEADERS:

{…We Insist On Restructuring Of The Country Now Before We Go For Any National Election; Imagine A Situation Where Kano Has 44 LGAs And Bayelsa 8, The Forum Said}

AJM NEWS

The Southern and Middle Belt Leaders Forum, SMBLF, on Wednesday, vowed that Northern leaders cannot continue to decide what happens in Nigeria, adding that it will no longer allow a section of the country to play any supremacist role over others.

The forum said this, in a communique, after an emergency meeting held in Abuja.

The communique was signed by Chief EK Clark (PANDEF Leader), AVM Idongesit Nkanga, Chief Broderick Bozimo, Mr. Solomon Asemota (SAN), Senator Bassey Henshaw, Prof GG Darah and Chief T k O Okorotie.

Others are Chief Ayo Adebanjo (for Afenifere Leader), Mr Yinka Odumakin, Senator Kofoworola Akerele-Buknor, Oba Oladipo Olaitan, Senator Femi Okunrounmu, Chief Supo Sonibare, Chief Demola Folarin, Dr. Akin Fapohunda.

Chief John Nwodo (President General, Ohanaeze), Chief Guy Ikokwu, Dr. Chukwuemeka Ezeife, Mr. Chuks Muomah SAN, Mr. Mike Ahamba SAN, Mr. Madu Bright O Allwell, Chuks Achi-Okpaga, Chief Alex Ogbonnia. Dr. Pogu Bitrus (President, Middle Belt Forum), Air Commoder Dan Suleiman (retd), Dr. S D Gani, Elder Stephen Bangoji, Hon Jonathan

Asake, Mr. Chris Aba, Mr. Mark Jacob and Mr. Festus Nyiwo.

Reacting to the meeting of Northern states’ Governors with Northern Emirs and Chiefs and Arewa leaders in topmost positions in the current regime held on Monday, the leaders reiterated it’s call for restructuring before the 2023 general elections.

The communique reads: “The meeting coming aftermath of the ENDSARS protest when we should be putting heads together nationally to seek solutions to our problems is most distractive, divisive and made Nigeria widely scattered as against the ‘indivisibility’ and other non-sequitors that were regurgitated at the end of it.

“Where would this country be heading to if we also decide to call our own meeting with our Governors and top officials in the Federal Government? We do not see any responsibility displayed by those who have been serially accused of sectionalising our national government to allow such in sensibility, insensitivity and total subversion of the unity of the country that only exists on the lips of those behind the meeting.

“It not also lost on us that the communique of the meeting was making space for National Executive Council nominations to a sectional initiative as the utmost level of disregard to the rest of the country whom they are treating as serfs when we are supposed to joint and equal stakeholders in project Nigeria.

“The meeting wondered the quality of humanity of any group meeting at this period of mournings not to have a word of compassion for those that were recklessly murdered by state forces and hired thugs during the protests.

“We reject the indecent approach to paint the peaceful protesters in dark colours. They made their demands clear and were orderly before the violent Nigerian state deployed armed soldiers and thugs in 911 lorries against them.

“It is wickedness to place ‘our power’ above every other national interest by playing the “regime change” label on the peaceful protesters who were not armed like Boko Haram that the regime is chasing about with negotiations in the same spirit it has been cuddling and pampering killer herdsmen.

“We do not see the thoughtfulness in the celebration of Northern youths not participating in ENDSARS protests as if they did not also loot like their deprived young people in other areas of the country which shows they are suffering the same thing. But instead of treating leprosy, our counterparts are dealing with eczema

“We foresaw all that is happening now, which is why we have been calling for restructuring as a multi-ethic country like Nigeria can only be run along federal lines. We were not oblivious of the damage the military did to this country by using fiat to create LGAs with headquarters in the villages of top shots mostly from the North.
Kano state today has 44 Local Governments and Bayelsa has 8. When you want to recruit 10 policemen per LGA Bayelsa will have 80 and Kano 44O. That affects where the materials to be drawn into SARS and others are drawn. The inequalities multiply everywhere. And this is why we insist on restructuring of the country now before we go for any national election.

“We make it abundantly clear to our colleagues from the core North that yesterday ended last night and never again shall this country be run the same old way. No section of the country can play any supremacist role again as if the rest of us are fools.

“It is either we live together as equals under the same rules of engagement or we explore other options as dignified human beings.

“We deeply mourn with all families who lost dear ones in the crisis we just went through and pray to God to comfort them. May those who wantonly destroyed lives pay grievously for their deeds.”

Blood Flows In Oyigbo, As Igbo Leaders Keep Mute!

BLOOD FLOWS IN OYIGBO, AS IGBO LEADERS KEEP MUTE!

Otu Obiahu, AJM NEWS

{…Are We Sure There Is Any Igbo Elite Still Standing?
So No Igbo Man Of High Standing Can Tell Wike EyeBall To Eyeball That Enough Is Enough!
The North Is Protecting Their Foot Soldiers, We Are Killing Our Own}

Late last night, our friend Elder Henry Shield confirmed Wike’s support to what is happening at Oyigbo. I raised suspicion yesterday that Wike might have declared war on Ndigbo in a bid to please some men in Abuja and brighten his chances of making an entrant into the presidency in 2023.

What is happening at Oyigbo, one would ask?

Massacre

Maiming

Killings

Genocide

Abuse of human right

All Against Ndigbo.

Some would say IPOB are not Ndigbo but I won’t, as usual, be drawn into such senseless argument with them.

The security of lives and properties of ALL Ndigbo living in Oyigbo are not guaranteed.

One resident of Oyigbo revealed to AJM NEWS that to speak Igbo language in Oyigbo now poses a great danger, as such a person could be picked up and tagged IPOB member, and taken to an unknown location.
He said: “As I type this message, if anyone is caught as an Igbo speaking person, the person would be tagged an IPOB member and will be taken to an unknown destination. Na Pigin everyone de take greet em broda now for yonda”.

How possible is it to differentiate an IPOB member from one who’s not?

Even at that, the members of IPOB are humans and they deserve to live.

Wike is a lawyer. We were told.

If you proscribe IPOB, the law didn’t say you should kill her members.

Arrest them.

Arraign them. Try them for terrorism.

If found guilty, they would be sentenced to jail.

But no.

Wike has made himself a tyrant.

Oyigbo, Ndigbo, shall rise again.

I ask again: Are We Sure There Is Any Igbo Elite Still Standing, Who Can Tell Wike Eyeball To Eyeball That Enough Is Enough?

It’s Time To Renegotiate Nigeria, Says Yoruba World Congress (YWC)

ITS TIME TO RENEGOTIATE THE EXISTENCE OF NIGERIA, SAYS YORUBA WORLD CONGRESS (YWC)

{…Multiple Attacks On Lagos By Military Forces, Declaration Of War Against Yoruba Land, It’s Time To Renegotiate The Existence Of Nigeria – YWC Leader, Banji Akintoye}

Calls on UN, EU, AU, US, UK, Commonwealth, others to come forward to be part of renegotiation of 1914 almagamation

Says “Buhari’s silence on Lekki shootings, casualties, an evidence that attacks were well-coordinated by external forces to bring down Yoruba Nation”

AJM NEWS

Friday 23rd, October, 2020

Like concerned fathers would do in a period of trouble, eminent Yoruba Leaders of thought have described the Tuesday 20th October shooting at unarmed protesters at Lekki, Lagos by forces in Military uniform as a declaration of war against the Yoruba people of Nigeria.

The leaders, who spoke under the platform of Yoruba World Congress (YWC), said the wanton destruction of properties and monuments across Yoruba Land in the last 48hours without any form of resistance from security agencies is an evidence that the almagamation of 1914 between the South and the North has already expired, saying “it is time to renegotiate the existence of the country”.

In a statement made available to newsmen after a virtual emergency meeting of the organisation held on Friday morning and signed by the President-General of the group, Emeritus President Banji Akintoye, YWC called on the international communities, especially, the British and American Governments, United Nations, European Union, African Union and the Commonwealth of Nations to, as a matter of urgency, come forward to be part of the renegotiation team to discuss the existence of Nigeria, stressing that the reality on ground does not indicate that restructuring can still save Nigeria from extinction.

The statement read in parts: “President Buhari addressed Nigerians on the serious crisis now confronting Nigeria, the crisis which started with peaceful protests by Nigerian Youths but which suddenly grew into wide spread violence in Lagos State, in some other parts of the Yoruba South West and other parts of Nigeria, and which the international Press has been valuably reporting on.

“President Buhari’s address sounded like a reluctant address crafted to touch mostly on inconsequentials and to avoid the most compelling aspects of the crisis. To the surprise of all Nigerians and the whole world, President Buhari did not acknowledge that the Youth’s protest started peacefully and remained commendably peaceful until the protesters were shot at in Lekki, Lagos.

“The whole world had watched as the youthful protesters conducted themselves in an orderly manner, and even as they cleaned up the trash that was generated by them in the streets. Most Nigerians accept that the demands being made by the protesting Youths were reasonable and justified in the interest of Nigeria.

“We are all witnesses to the fact that in admiration for all these, Nigerian citizens and even non Nigerians from abroad rushed food, drinks, and money to the protesters in the streets. We are all witnesses to the fact that the Youths were sitting, holding small Nigerian flags and singing the Nigerian national anthem at the Lekki Toll gate when some troops dressed in Nigerian Uniforms suddenly began to shoot at them.

“We all saw on the video the deaths and injuries that the shootings caused and we are shocked that President Buhari did not say anything about the shooting at the peaceful and unarmed protesters. He did not say anything about the killing and wounding of the Youths. He did not express any concern or sympathy with the victims, their parents and relations.

“President Buhari also said nothing about the very troubling questions that have grown around the Lekki shootings. The Lagos State Governor, who is the Chief Security Officer of Lagos State, has said that the shooting was done by forces beyond his control. The Commanding Officer of the Nigerian Army in the Lagos Area has denied authorizing the shooting. The Nigerian Army has also denied ownership of the whole action. Many troubling questions have now arisen. Who authorized the shootings? What are the true identities of the shooters who were clothed in the Nigerian Army Uniforms?

“President Buhari also said nothing about another very troubling fact. There was manifestly present, during the Youth’s peaceful protests, an effort by some persons to infiltrate bands of thugs and hoodlums into the peacrful protests, obviously for the purpose of disrupting and discrediting the peaceful process, and thereby manufacturing an excuse for a repressive governmental clampdown on peaceful protesters.

“In some places, especially reported/alleged to be in Abuja, publicly owned vehicles were seen again and again on video worldwide bringing the thugs and hoodlums to the scenes of peaceful protests. We Nigerian citizens, Nigerians in Diaspora worldwide and the whole civilized world, want an explanation of this feature of the on going Nigerian crisis.

“Inevitably, we Nigerians are asking many troubling questions. Does there exist in this country a secret paramilitary force that has access to Nigerian Army Uniforms and that can be employed by its owners against targets in the Nigerian population? Is there a group of people in this country that have a special agenda of their own and who are employing the authority and resources of the Nigerian State to implement their agenda?

“Troubled by these and allied questions, most Nigerians are now coming to various conclusions and demands. We, Yoruba, of the Nigerian South West, a Nation of 55million people in Nigeria, now demand that in order to achieve a peaceful resolution of the the convoluted Nigerian problems and the widely devastating insecurity in Nigeria, Nigeria should embark on serious negotiations over the whole Nigerian situation.

“We demand a negotiating table at which the representatives of the various nationalities of Nigeria will come face to face to negotiate. We are not demanding restructuring, we are demanding negotiation by the nationalities, the owners of the various ancestral homelands that constitute Nigeria. Nothing less than that can now adequately address the catastrophic situation into which Nigeria has now sunk.

“Alternatively or in addition, and in order to prevent further violence, bloodshed and destruction in our Western region, the region that is responsible for most of the industrial, commercial and professional productivity in Nigeria, we call for face-to- face negotiation between the leaders of our Yoruba nation and President Buhari as the head of the Nigerian Federal Government, in order to immediately stop further violence and bloodshed in our region and in the rest of Nigeria.

“With all sense of responsibility, we call upon the United Nations and significant agencies and factors of the International communities, and on all the most powerful countries of the world, to step forward now to support our demand for negotiation, and exercise the needed influence to make the negotiation happen. We ask the world to remember that in the background to the present crisis in Nigeria is the situation whereby, in the past 5 years, one of the nationalities in Nigeria has incessantly proclaimed it’s agenda of using violence to subdue other nationalities, to seize the lands of other nationalities, to banish some nationalities from their homelands and to invite their own non Nigerian kinsmen to come and occupy the land.

“We ask the world to remember that this nationality positioning themselves as conquerors have been killing, maiming, raping, kidnapping and destroying in most parts of Nigeria in pursuit of their proclaimed agenda.

“We ask the the world to remember that in the throes of the consequent insecurity, Nigeria has plunged frighteningly into poverty, deprivation, and horrific human suffering.

“We ask the human race to respond expeditiously to the Nigerian situation in the exercise of its responsibility to protect vulnerable and threatened people and peoples by acting upon our call for peaceful and responsible negotiation now”, the statement concluded.
