MORE THAN 15,000 SIGN PETITION TO STRIP D’BANG OF UN APPOINTMENT

Rape: Almost 15,000 sign petition to strip D’Banj of UN appointment:Almost 15,000 people have signed an online petition calling on the United Nations to strip Oladapo Oyebanjo aka D’Banj of his appointment as United Nations Ambassador for Peace.
They also called the attention of brands such as Heritage Bank Africa, One Africa, CSA Global, and other establishments associated with D’Banj to end their commercial relationship with him and stand in support of victims of sexual violence.
The petition which was started by one E.Pooola 20 hours ago on Change.Org had hit 14, 310 as of 11.10 am on Friday.
It read in part, “We call on the United Nations, and United Nations Women Africa organisations to remove Nigerian artiste Mr Dapo Oyebanjo as a youth ambassador and distance themselves from his actions following the sponsored kidnap of Seyitan who accused D’Banj of rape and sexual assault which happened in 2018.
“Women in Nigeria are increasingly at risk of sexual violence and the United Nations and United Nations Women Africa as an entity committed to the empowerment of women should not be seen to associate themselves with alleged rapists, abusers, and kidnappers.
“We ask the United Nations and United Nations Women Africa to support and lend their influence in helping Seyitan get justice for the abuse she endured in 2018 and the harassment and bullying in the past weeks.”Credit: Punch©AfikpoJokwaMediaAJM NEWSTogether, We Can!!!Hotline/WhatsApp: 08103926517

NIGERIA SITUATION: ONE STEP FORWARD, FOUR STEPS BACKWARDS!

For The Records, Especially For Those Born After 80’s.

NIGERIA SITUATION: ONE STEP FORWARD, FOUR STEPS BACKWARDS!
How Are The Mighty Fallen?

As Otu Obiahu Saw It!
AJM NEWS!

I was telling my neighbor some couple of weeks ago that Nigerians enjoyed life and other social amenities in the 80’s and early 90’s, unlike the hard times we’re experiencing now.
Instead of improving on the amenities that made our lives better, we left them to become progressively worse, which invariably worsened our condition of living in Nigeria.

Yes, it’s true! Though the younger generation may not understand this!

But The Fact Remains That We Were Far More Productive In 1980 Than
We Are Today!

In 1980 The key Metric Are
As Follows:
1) We were a net exporter of refined petroleum products. Today we import all our refined petroleum products.

2) We ride in locally assembled cars, buses and trucks. Peugeot cars in
Kaduna and Volkswagen cars in Lagos. Leyland in Ibadan and ANAMCO in Enugu produce our buses and trucks. Steyr at Bauchi
producing our Agricultural tractors. And it is not just Automobile Assembly, we were producing many of the components. Vono products in Lagos producing the seats. Exide
Batteries in Ibadan producing the batteries, not just for Nigeria but for the entire West Africa.
Isoglass and TSG in Ibadan producing the windshields. Ferodo in Ibadan producing the brake pads and disc. Tyres produced by Dunlop in Lagos and Mitchellin in Portharcourt. And I mean tyres produced from rubber plantations located in Rivers State.

3) We were listening to Radio and watching television sets assembled in Ibadan by Sanyo.

4) We were using refrigerators, freezers and Air conditioners produced by Thermocool.

5) We were wearing clothes produced from the UNTL textile mills in Kaduna and Chellarams in Lagos. Not from imported cotton but from cotton grown in Nigeria.

6) Our water was running through pipes produced by Kwalipipe in Kano.

7) Our toilets were fitted with WC produced at Kano and Abeokuta.

8) We were cooking with LPG gas stored inside gas cylinders produced at the NGC factory in Ibadan.

9) Our electricity was flowing through cables produced by the Nigerian wire and Cable, Ibadan
and Kablemetal in Lagos
and Portharcourt.

10) We had Bata and Lennards producing the shoes we were wearing. Not from imported leathers but from locally tanned leather at Kaduna.

11) We built our houses with quality cement produced at NIGERCEM Nkalagu, now in Ebonyi State, with the limestone from Nkalagu. NIGERCEM supplied more than enough cement to Nigeria and beyond.

12) AVOP Vegetable Oil in Udi now in Enugu State was the best vegetable oil produced locally with plants grown in Nigeria.

13) We were mainly flying our airways, the Nigeria Airways, to most places in the world. The Airways was about the biggest in Africa at that time.

14) Our trains and Railway Stations were in full operation, safer and cheaper for those who love travelling or conveying their goods by train.
Most of the trains were powered by coals drilled from the coal mine at Onyema Hill/Valley in Enugu.
The same coal gave us the electricity we used before the monopoly by NEPA.

15) Most of the food we eat were being grown or produced in Nigeria.
We were producing all of the above and more in 1980.

Today, we import almost everything. There lies the source of the terrible exchange rate we are experiencing today and everybody on this platform has a critical role to play in reversing the ugly trend.

It is not enough for us to complain about the exchange rate or bring out what others are not doing or are failing to do, the key question is what are you producing or what are you planning to produce?

Truly, we need to go back to the good old days!

GROUP CONDEMNS UMAHI OVER ORDER TO ARREST ABIA ONYIKE BY DSS

DSS Picks Stephen Oken, As Umahi Orders The Arrest Of Abia OnyikeGROUP CONDEMNS THE ORDER FOR THE ARREST OF CHIEF ABIA ONYIKE, FOR ALLEGEDLY CRITICIZING UMAHI’S GOVERNMENT; DEMANDS THE RELEASE OF STEPHEN OKEN PICKED UP BY THE DSS:Otu Obiahu, AJM NEWS
June 12/06/2020A non governmental organization, Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes In Diaspora AESID, has condemned the order issued by the state governor, Engr. Dave Umahi for the arrest of a one time Commissioner for Information in the state and a well known critic of Umahi’s government, Chief Abia Onyike, whom the governor said must be arrested and quarantined for entering the state of recent. The group described the order by Governor Umahi on 2020 Democracy Day Celebration as an evil democracy day gift to Ebonyians, which is also a further proof of Umahi’s towering anti-democratic credentials. The group said: “We vehemently condemn Governor Umahi’s evil democracy day gifts to Ebonyians”.The AESID further demanded the immediate release of one Ezza man, Mr. Stephen Oken who was allegedly picked up by the DSS on Thursday for undisclosed reasons, by the order of the state governor. The AESID made their views known via a Communique signed the President, Ambassador Paschal Oluchukwu and made available to news men.Below Is The Full Text Of The Communique::The Association of Ebonyi State Indigenes in Disapora, AESID- a Non-governmental organization passionate about the welfare of the State’s citizens vehemently condemn the latest draconian order issued to the Direcotate of State Security Services, DSS by the Governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. David Umahi for the arrest of one of his stern critics and erstwhile Commissioner for Information, Chief Abia Onyike. We are deeply saddened that Governor Umahi who made the order while giving an update on COVID-19 in the State at the Government House, Abakaliki has continued to flourish on his anti-democratic credentials even on the eve of the celebration of Nigeria’s chequered democratic experiment by ordering incessant arrests of citizens who share differing views on matters of policies and governance in his five-year old administration. The crime of Chief Onyike according to the Governor is the claim that he came into Ebonyi from an ‘unknown destination’ and allegedly violated the COVID-19 lockdown rules in the State by not quarantining himself. He was consequently barred from entering his Edda village in (Afikpo South LGA) by the anti-COVID-19 Task Force causing him to return to the State capital. We are rudely shocked that Governor Umahi could stoop so low by asking the State’s secret service to pick the former Commissioner up in his Abakaliki residence for immediate isolation at its facility. This platform is however deeply worried that Governor Umahi’s arrest order came barely 24 hours after Chief Onyike critiqued the Governor’s 5-year old administration during a Radio Programme on 92.5 Enugu’s Dream Fm. It is therefore a clear case of the witch crying in the night only for neighbours to see the dead body of the baby the next morning and this stands truly condemned by us and every reasonable Ebonyian.
Assuming without conceding that the former Commissioner is positive for Corona Virus, is the DSS which should be more deeply concerned with tackling more pressing State security challenges such as kidnappings, inter-communal unrests and several reported clashes the appropriate agency to quarantine or isolate him? We sincerely frown at the flagrant abuse of State powers through the incessant use of State security apparatchik and unofficial State security outfits such as the Neighbourhood Security Watch by the Governor to intimidate, harass, molest, arrest and attack harmless and innocent citizens, particularly those who share opposing views on his dictatorial style of governance.Just yesterday, another citizen of the State from Ezza North Local Government Area of the State, Mr. Stephen Oken was picked by the DSS on the orders of the State on spurious and unsubstantiated allegations. How does Umahi feel that the only democracy gift he could offer to the citizens of Ebonyi whose wealth and resources he has amassed all for himself and his family on the eve of Democracy Day celebration is the unrelenting arrests and attacks on his critics? We wish to remind Governor Umahi that the fundamental gain in any democracy for the citizens the world over is freedom: freedom to choose those who rule them, freedom to criticize them or their style of government, freedom to criticize programmes and policies of government and, most importantly, FREEDOM TO CONTRIBUTE BY WAY OF ADVICE ON HOW GOVERNANCE CAN BE BETTER IMPROVED.It is our summation therefore that as noted by his predecessor, Chief Martin Elechi during the 2013 Democracy Day Celebration “since such freedom is a shared value, it implies that nobody’s right to say ‘yes’ on an issue is superior to another person’s right to say ‘no’ on the same issue. Edward Bellamy appeared to have directly added a voice on this when he proclaimed that: “the primal principle of democracy is the worth and dignity of the individual.”From his widely-condemned attacks on his Social media critics in 2017 and 2018 through the use of his political thugs to his globally-condemned and outrageous ‘life-ban’ on two journalists for merely performing their statutory and constitutional duties, Governor Umahi has continually shown that he detests free speech which is necessary and healthy for a virile and viable democracy where citizens know their rights and privileges.
Is this the same Umahi we recollect who vowed in his inaugural address at about this time in 2015 that he would run; “A government that will listen and absorb the wisdom and counsel that will come from all citizens, young and old. We shall strive with our mightiest effort to give meaning to the concept of a government of the people, by the people and for the people. We shall do so precisely because we recognize that we are nothing without the people…”?The recent vituperative onslaughts against his erstwhile Secretary to the State Government, Professor Benard Odoh and the unleashing of virtually all State apparatus against him for merely calling on the Umahi-led government to be accountable to the citizens of Ebonyi State is another testament of his detest for opposing views and opinions no matter how healthy it may be. This, we have repeatedly asserted is also condemnable! It is our solemn request therefore that Governor Umahi should put a self-check on his growing anti-democratic tendencies since his numerous aides cannot advise him and IMMEDIATELY REVERSE himself on the order for arrest of Chief Onyike and also ORDER IMMEDIATE and UNCONDITIONAL RELEASE of Mr. Oken who has been in DSS custody since two days ago.
He should in addition to the above also apologize to the entire Ebonyi State over these unbecoming conducts and particularly the affected persons and their families while assuring them of their safety and security as the Chief Security Officer of the Salt of the nation! While appreciating pasts and present leaders for their enormous contributions to the advancement of democracy in the State, we specially thank the good people of our dear Ebonyi State for their very active roles and participations so far in the entire democratic processes in the State in the last 21 years of its existence and urge them never to give up.
For in the very end, the wise words of Marjorie Kelly on democracy will be their testimony:
“The lesson of history is clear: democracy always wins in the end.”Sign:

GUNSHOTS IN THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA; AISHA DEMANDS IMMEDIATE RELEASE OF HER AIDES

Aisha Demands The Immediate Release Of Her Aides!

GUNSHOTS IN THE PRESIDENTIAL VILLA; AISHA BUHARI AND HER KIDS CONFRONT HUSBAND’S PERSONAL ASSISTANT:

AJM NEWS

The power tussle in the Presidential Villa between First Lady Aisha Buhari and Sabiu ‘Tunde’ Yusuf, the President’s influential Personal Assistant and favourite nephew, has taken a dangerous turn that could undermine security at the Presidential Villa, with the President’s top security aides’ loyalty split between the opposing camps. The Villa was thrown into confusion, Thursday night, when the First Lady accompanied by her children – Zahra, Halima and Yusuf, – took a team of policemen led by her Aide-De-Camp to forcefully confront Tunde following an earlier heated disagreement over his refusal to self-isolate after his trip to Lagos to see his wife, who had just given birth to a boy.Sources familiar with the event said on reaching the House 8 Guest Chalet of the President, where Tunde resides with his family, there was an altercation between him and Mrs. Buhari, her children and her security aides that eventually snowballed into a near fatal brawl. Our sources said Tunde, who appeared helpless and clearly outnumbered had to flee on foot.“This was when Mrs. Buhari’s ADC and four members of her police escort fired some shots into the air as they pursued him. He had been seriously wounded at this time but successfully made it to the residence of Mamman Daura where he would shelter for the night,” a source in the Presidential villa told THEWILL.The source said the Inspector-General of Police, Mr. Mohammed Adamu, following a briefing on the horrific incident arrived the Presidential Villa Friday morning and ordered Mrs. Buhari’s ADC and all the police personnel attached her who took part in the altercation and shooting arrested and detained.Narrating the ugly incident to THEWILL, the source at the Villa, who asked to remain anonymous, said: “Let me explain what is really going on so that your journal and your readers can truly understand what is happening in the Villa now, the dynamics and 2023 presidential politics.“Since Mallam Abba Kyari died, the First Lady has been trying to kick the President’s Personal Assistant who is also his nephew, Tunde (The president named him Tunde in honour of the late Tunde Idiagbon, his former deputy when he was military head of state) out of the Villa so that she can effectively wield full influence over him (The President).“She believes Tunde and the President’s other relatives are blocking her from having full control of her husband and power in the Villa. But it is obvious that the President does not want this because he has encouraged Tunde to continue with his job.“Tunde’s wife just delivered a boy in Lagos. So, he got the President’s approval to fly to Lagos to see her with his two sisters last weekend. He returned to Abuja last Sunday and returned to work on Monday. He was however asked to self-isolate for 14-days because of the Coronavirus pandemic by the Chief Personal Security Officer to the President, Abdulkarim Dauda and the President’s Aide-De-Camp, Mohammed Abubakar, but he told them that the President said he shouldn’t.“On Thursday, when the First Lady heard that he was still coming to work, she asked him to self-isolate but he told her that the President said he didn’t have to. Her insistence led to a heated verbal exchange between them and the President was later informed about this. The President however took sides with Tunde and didn’t see any reason why he should self-isolate at all. He said Zahra and Halima (Buhari’s daughters) left the villa to visit their in-laws when Halima’s husband’s uncle died recently and they didn’t self-isolate on their return. He also pointed to the fact that when his new Chief of Staff, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, went to Lagos too, he didn’t self-isolate on his return, so he didn’t see any reason why Tunde should. So, he overruled her.“What happened on Thursday night is a big embarrassment. The First Lady and three of her children – Zahra, Halima and Yusuf – took some policemen attached to her, including her ADC to Tunde’s house. They didn’t like the way Tunde spoke to their mother, so they actually went there to fight him. During their confrontation with him, he was overpowered and clearly could not withstand their number, so he ran for his dear life.“It was as he was running and they were chasing him that they shot a few times into the air. They chased him to the house of his uncle, Mamman Daura. Of course, they couldn’t enter Mamman’s residence to get Tunde but they shouted and made a lot of threats before they eventually left.“Do you know that Yusuf later went back to Tunde’s house in the wee hours of the morning with a gas tank to burn it down? Thank God Tunde wasn’t home when he got there. That was what saved his life.“The DSS is responsible for the security at the villa. Gunshots were fired at the villa and the DSS, that is responsible for security, has not detained the shooters? No one has been questioned. This is even a dangerous precedence for visitors to the villa, including Ministers and top government functionaries.“This would send a wrong and scary signal. You can be shot at or brutally attacked in the Presidential Villa at the First Lady’s orders if you do go against her. This is not how it should be!“You see, Nasir El-rufai and Lamido Sanusi are the ones using the First Lady to heat up things in the villa since Abba Kyari died because of their interest in the 2023 presidential election. This is what is escalating this whole new fight for full access to the president. She already has the Chief of Staff on her side so she doesn’t want Tunde giving the President contrary views and advise. She wants everyone against her out of the villa but that is not going to happen.”

EMEKA OFFOR AND IGBOS LIKE HIM SHOULD KNOW THAT CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME

CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME!
√ To Chief Emeka Offor And Other Igbos Like Him

Written And Sent To AJM NEWS By Mr. Fidelis E. Ologwu

Since the outbreak of the deadly Coronavirus, the whole world has stood as one man with a common goal and purpose aimed at fighting the pandemic.
Rich Nations, world bodies like WHO, World Bank, EU, AU, UNICEF and kind hearted individuals have also extended their hands of friendship and fellowship to assisting poor nations to fight the plague.

Our own Chief Emeka Offor is not left out, he has joined the league of kind hearted individuals across the globe to write his name in the sands of time in the global fight against the deadly monster.
His philanthropic nature and disposition is commendable
and worthy of emulation. It’s on record that he donated a hooping sum of N12 billion to the Federal Government of Nigeria to assist in the fight against Covid-19.
Recently, he has also donated over N48 million worth of hospital equipments to Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Zaria. All these donations if made in good faith without” hidden motives or agenda is good and highly commendable, but charity they say begins at home.

It is possible he must have made similar donations in the past to South-Eastern States, it does not justify this huge donations to the Federal Government of Nigeria
and ABU Zaria when the governor of his home state has just requested for the sum of NI Billion support from the Federal Government for the fight against COVID-19 pandemic, which has not been granted.

It is really sad and painful to acknowledge that some of our people seem to be blind to the marginalization, neglect and injustice to the south east, which we suffered over the years, especially since after the Civil war.
Considering the infrastructural deficient, ill equipped hospitals, epileptic power supply, lack of portable water supply to towns and villages in the south-east, such donation is uncalled for or absolutely not necessary, because if these donations are made to the governments of South-Eastern states it will go a long way in assisting the governors in addressing the mirage and long
list of infrastructural deficit.

It is an indisputable fact that the north has always enjoyed the sympathy and good will of the Federal Government and also lion share of the national cake. Moreover, the north also enjoys the good will of many foreign donors and NGOs through the influence of the Federal Government.

The questions begging for answers now are:
How much of the federal government presence do we feel in thus south-east in comparison
to other regions?
How many billionaires and millionaires from the northern extraction have assisted any project in the south-east, to warrant such donation to ABU Zaria?
How many foreign donors and NGOs have their offices in our zone, let alone impacting the Iive of our people?

With the aforementioned, should wisdom not teach and instruct
Chief Emeka Offor and his likes that charity should start from the home front.
Don’t we have our own Teaching and General Hospitals to equip and support?
Furthermore, the north has the best road network, better electricity supply; in nut shell the best infrastructure through the unflinching support of the federal Government. The poorly equipped hospital in the north is better than the best equipped in the South-East. Why can’t we join hands together with our leader and governors to build a region of our dreams which will be a pride of all?

Chief Emeka Offor should understand that no matter the donation he makes to the north, he will still be regarded as an infidel and an enemy. He can cut off his head, put in a charger and present to the north, his person will still not be acceptable.

By this piece, am not preaching or advocating for hatred, but charity should begin from home and food for the children should not be given to strangers. Chief Emeka Offor starting charity abroad is tantamount to being busy keeping my brother’s vineyard and neglecting my own.

Finally, I want to draw the attention of all sons and daughters of the Igbo extraction both home and abroad to the Clarion call of Chief Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu, quote “NDI IGBO LOTANU ULO!”

Otu Obiahu: YOUR GOOD WORKS AND QUALITY REPRESENTATION WILL SPEAK FOR YOU THAN A BATTALION OF MEDIA AIDES

Otu Obiahu Speaks!
YOUR GOOD WORKS AND QUALITY REPRESENTATION WILL SPEAK FOR YOU THAN RECRUITING A BATTALION OF PAID IMAGE MAKERS!

{…Rural Women Can Sing Better For You When Their Lives Are Touched; Ask Ude Nwachi}

The Only Thing That Will MAKE AND PROJECT YOUR IMAGE As A Political Office Holder Is Service Delivery And Not Social Media Image Makers.

Recruiting A Battalion Of Image Makers Is Not Enough To Convince The Masses; Your Good Works Have To Have A Direct Impact On The Lives Of Your Constituents- The Youths, The Children And The Aged.
When You Get The Hearts Of The People, You Wouldn’t Spend Much Money Paying & Servicing Your Hired Image Makers; The Common People You Touched Their Lives Through Quality Representation Shall ANNOUNCE YOU To The World And Would Become Your Free (Unpaid) Image Makers.

Hon. Maria Ude Nwachi Didn’t Hire A Choral Band To Win The Heart Of Her People, But Her Kindness And Labour Of Love For Her People Singled Her Out And Greatly Endeared Her To Her People, Which Made Her A Household Name, Not Only In Afikpo, But In Ebonyi And Beyond.
Even If Maria Decides To Lead A Quiet Life And Not To Run For Any Position, Her Past Works Would Continue To Speak For Her!

Hon. Chinedu Ogah Is Another Example Of A Good Representative Whose Labour Of Love And Quality Service Delivery Have Positively Projected His Image Above The Politicians That Started Before Him In His Senatorial District, More Than Any Recruited Media Aide Could Have Projected Him In The Eyes Of The Public.
Today, Ogah Is Famous And Loved By All, Not Because Of The Commitment Of His Media Aides, But His Good Works!

It’s Very Shameful And Unfortunate That Most Nigerian Politicians Now Employ The Services Of Myriad Of Media Aides Cum Image Makers Who Would Be Dishing Out Lies To The Public, Just To Deceive The Gullible And To Cover Up Their Inefficiencies And Abysmal Failures.
Ebonyi Case Is Presently In A Sorry State; Where You See So Many Young People And A Handful Of Adults (Who Can Be Best Described As ‘Any Government Official In Power’ – AGIP), Jumping From One Politician To Another, And Pouring Tantrums On One Another On The Social Media, In A Bid To Properly MAKE THE IMAGE Of Whomsoever They Are Supporting.

Unfortunately, Every Political Office Holder In Ebonyi Wants To Emulate The State Governor, Dave Umahi Who Recruited About One Thousand Social Media Soldiers; Thinking That It Is All That Is Required To Make A Government Official (Elected Or Appointed) Look Good Before The Masses. No, Not At All!

All The Newly Appointed Caretaker Committee Chairmen (CCC) In Ebonyi State, Particularly That Of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Should Sit Down And Take A Closer Look At Their Councils, Take A Careful Note Of The Challenges Faced By The People, And Then Chart A Possible Way Of Tackling Those Problems.
Secondly, Identify Some Of The Weaknesses Of The Past Chairman And What The People Expected Him/Her To Do Which He/She Didn’t Do; Work On Those Areas And Use It As A Stepping Stone To Perform Better Than Your Former Boss.
Again, Call A Town Hall Meeting To Interact With Your People From Time To Time, Especially Now That You’re Taking Over As The New Chairman.
People Love Interacting With Their Representatives; It Gives Them Joy And Sense Of Belonging, And Equally Gives Them The Avenue To Air Their Views.
Finally, Hit The Ground Running!

When You Apply The Above Mentioned Tactics, Your People Would Be Happy With You; And You Would Discover That The Local Women Are Better SINGERS And IMAGE MAKERS Than The Recruited Band Of Media Aides.

Remember, When The Tenure Of Your Appointment Expires; If You Cannot Stand For An Election And Emerge Victorious Without The Governor Or Higher Powers Rigging The Election In Your Favour And Imposing You On The People That Are Supposed To Elect You; That Shows You Didn’t Do Well The First Time You Served!
Some Past Chairmen Are In That Condition NOW!

This Is Your Opportunity To Change The Status Quo And Rewrite The Narrative; Don’t Miss It!
Maximize The Opportunity!

Afikpo: LATE EMMA’S WIFE SPEAKS ON THE GRUESOME KILLING OF HER HUSBAND

Late Emma’s Wife Speaks Out!
THE GRUESOME KILLING OF EMMANUEL ENI IN AFKPO; AFIKPO JOKWA SPEAKS WITH LATE EMMA’S WIFE, ANTHONIA:
Otu Obiahu, AJM NEWS
Thursday 11/06/2020

On Sunday, June 7, 2020, the family of Eni in Ezi Ogudu, Amuku Nkpoghoro, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State was thrown into a mourning mood with the shocking news of the killing of their family member, husband and uncle, Mr. Emmanuel Eni, as earlier reported by Afikpo Jokwa/ AJM NEWS.The wife of the late Emmanuel, who spoke with AJM NEWS correspondent revealed what led to her husband’s unfortunate death.Hear her: “My name is Mrs. Anthonia Okpani Eni.
I’m the wife of late Mr. Emmanuel Eni who was murdered last Sunday.”I got married to my husband, Emma and we wedded in November, 2016.
The very day we wedded, some men came to our house and attacked my husband for leaving a lady he had earlier dated, to marry me.”It took the intervention of our neighbours to get my husband rescued from the attackers who were sent by the former lady he dated, who also had a baby girl for him.”However, when I enquired from my husband why he decided not to marry the lady, he told me he was always having quarrels and misunderstanding with her. No peace in their relationship, no matter how hard he tried; which made him to quit the relationship to settle with another woman.”My late husband also did his best to contribute to the training of the little girl whom his former lover bore for him, but as it was always the case, the lady would not accept anything from my husband on behalf of the little girl, even if it was school fees.
She would rather ask my husband to go to her mum to see if she would accept his contribution. When my husband goes to the mother as directed, the woman would not still receive whatever he came with.
Notwithstanding, I kept on encouraging my husband to keep supporting in the upbringing of the little girl no matter the treatment he was getting from the lady and her mother, because the girl is still his child.”In several occasions, the lady would tell my husband that she would deal with him seriously, and atimes when she sees me on the road or crossing in front of her shop (where she sells provisions), she would begin to abuse and rain insults on me, and even threatened that I can never ever bear a child for my husband. On Saturday, June 6, 2020, my husband came to pick me from my business centre at Ukpa (where I sell food).
As we got to a Suya Joint beside Zenith Bank, Afikpo, my husband packed his motorcycle for us to buy some Suya; then I noticed that the younger brother of my husband’s ex-lover also parked his own motorcycle somewhere along the road with one young boy he was carrying on the bike.”However, my husband did not like the Suya, we mounted on our bike and moved down to the Suya Joint at Ngwori Centre near EBOTRANS park. But as we moved to the joint to buy the Suya, I also observed the young man was coming behind us with the boy he was carrying on his bike, and still came to the same Ngwori, packed his bike and then went inside the hotel with his colleague; which I immediately out of fear told my husband about the suspicious movements of the two guys, but he told me to forget about them.”Then On Sunday, June 7, 2020 my husband received a call, left the house towards evening time and was later found dead beside his motorcycle at Holy Child, Ugwuegu Afikpo”.Meanwhile, Late Mr. Emmanuel Eni’s ex lover had been arrested by the police for interrogations as investigation is ongoing.

No, Not At All!All The Newly Appointed Caretaker Committee Chairmen (CCC) In Ebonyi State, Particularly That Of Afikpo North Local Government Area, Should Sit Down And Take A Closer Look At Their Councils, Take A Careful Note Of The Challenges Faced By The People, And Then Chart A Possible Way Of Tackling Those Problems.
When You Apply The Above Mentioned Tactics, Your People Would Be Happy With You; And You Would Discover That The Local Women Are Better SINGERS And IMAGE MAKERS Than The Recruited Band Of Media Aides.Remember, When The Tenure Of Your Appointment Expires; If You Cannot Stand For An Election And Emerge Victorious Without The Governor Or Higher Powers Rigging The Election In Your Favour And Imposing You On The People That Are Supposed To Elect You; That Shows You Didn’t Do Well The First Time You Served!
Some Past Chairmen Are In That Condition NOW!This Is Your Opportunity To Change The Status Quo And Rewrite The Narrative; Don’t Miss It!
Maximize The Opportunity!Rev.Pastor OTU OBIAHU Is The Director Of Afikpo Jokwa Media/ AJM NEWS©AfikpoJokwaMedia

Afikpo In The News!!! A MIDDLE AGED MAN, ALLEGEDLY STRANGLED BY UNKNOWN PERSONS FOUND LYING BESIDE HIS MOTORCYCLE AT UGWUEGU AFIKPO, EBONYI STATE

Afikpo In The News Again!
A MIDDLE AGED MAN, ALLEGEDLY STRANGLED BY UNKNOWN PERSONS FOUND LYING BESIDE HIS MOTORCYCLE AT UGWUEGU, AFIKPO NORTH OF EBONYI STATE:

Otu Obiahu, AJM NEWS
Monday 08/06/2020

For some couple of weeks now, horrific incidents had been recorded in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, making the town to be in the news and to be seen in a bad light.

This time around, another tragic happening has occurred again, with the discovery of the lifeless body of a middle aged man believed to have been strangled to death by unknown persons, lying close to Holy Child School, Ugwuegu Afikpo North Local Government Area.

AJM NEWS was rightly informed by a close family member of the diseased whose name was given as Mr. Emmanuel Eni from Ezi-Ogudu, Amuku Nkpoghoro, Afikpo, that the late Emmanuel was found dead on Sunday, June 7, 2020 at Ugwuegu.

According to the information, the late Emmanuel was relaxing in his house at Ndibe with his wife and other family members when he got a phone call, which he picked and later dropped.
When the call came again, his wife got a little bit disturbed and wanted to know who was calling; however the husband went outside, put off his generator set and mounted his bike to go out.

It was gathered that Emmanuel’s wife and a few others in the house tried to convince him to stay back in his house and rest, as it was Sunday, instead of going to meet with whomsoever that was calling him on phone.
However, the husband assured them he would be back, then left with his bike around 5:00pm.

Mr. Emmanuel did not come back as the family expected, but only for the them to be notified about the lifeless body of a man seen lying beside a motorcycle close to Holy Child, Ugwuegu around 8:00pm on the same Sunday night, suspected to be their family member.

The news of the death of Mr. Emmanuel was announced in Ugwuegu by a good Samaritan who saw the the body littered along the road beside a bike.
According to the couple (husband and wife) who were strolling down the Holy Child route; at a point they noticed there were some persons standing at one corner of the road down the route.
As they (the couple) were coming down the same direction the group of persons were standing, they noticed that the men mounted their bikes and zoomed off, leaving only one bike at that very spot.

When the couple reached the point of the gathering, they saw the motorcycle and the lifeless body of an unknown middle aged man lying there, which made them to raise an alarm in the community.

Mr. Emmanuel was a dealer on Motorcycle Spare Parts, and has a shop at EGESCO Hotels, along Ndibe Beach Road, Afikpo, before his unfortunate death.

Meanwhile, the corpse of Mr. Emmanuel Eni had been deposited in the mortuary, as the police is doing their best to unravel the mysterious death of Eni and track down those involved in the wicked act.
