GOVERNOR UMAHI ORDERS THE IMMEDIATE ARREST OF CATERER FOR SERVING ‘POOR QUALITY FOOD’ AT CHRISTMAS PARTY ORGANIZED BY THE STATE GOVERNMENT

{…We’ll Do The Party Again, And I Will Inspect The Food Myself- UMAHI }

Governor Dave Umahi

AJM NEWS

The governor of Ebonyi State, Engr. Dave Umahi, says he has ordered the arrest of a caterer who allegedly served low-quality food to widows and elderly at a Christmas party in the state.

According to NAN, the cook was arrested on Thursday at the party organised by the government in Ebonyi.

Umahi condemned the act, adding that it was inappropriate to serve people what the cook could not eat.

He said the cook will be properly investigated and asked to refund the money spent on preparing the food for the widows and elderly.

“We are, therefore, going to repeat this party as we should celebrate our fathers and mothers well,” he said.

“The bible enjoins us to honour our fathers and mothers so that our days would be long on earth.

“I want my days to be long because I have suffered from youth.”

The governor said he would inspect food for the widows and elderly during the next celebration.

He also said the wrappers shared with the widows and elderly were of inferior quality.

“The celebration must be held on Dec.20 or 21 as anyone who takes what belongs to this category of people is taking trouble,” he added.

“We gave the civil servants high-quality wrappers and they were happy.

“The people who supplied those of the civil servants should be ready to supply 10,000 highest quality wrappers, to the widows and elders.

SOLUDO SPITS FIRE, VOWS TO DEFACE PETER OBI’S CAMPAIGN POSTERS IN ANAMBRA IF….

Obi And Soludo

AJM NEWS

Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra has given the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, LP, two weeks to clear debts of posters and billboards or have them defaced.
The Anambra State Signage and Advertising Agency, ANSAA, in a statement signed by the MD/CEO, Tony Ujubuonu, also threatened other candidates and parties to pay up too or face similar action.
According to the agency, the enforcement of the order will begin on December 5, 2022.

The statement reads: “Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency through a letter dated 14th November, 2022, urged all Out-Of-Home advertising practitioners in the state to revalidate and register all their billboards.

“According to a letter addressed to both OAAN and registered Non OAAN practitioners, the agency has taken major steps towards sanitizing outdoor advertising practice in the state through ban on individuals, clients and government agencies ownership of billboards in the state.
“Having done this, the agency expected maximum cooperation from the practitioners in terms of registering their billboards and payment of campaigns but are yet to get such.

“As a result of the above, the agency has directed all billboard owners to provide the information required to register each billboard and also pay up for any campaign on them.
‘Through this release, the entire political party candidates for the upcoming general elections are urged to make sure those handling their campaigns have made payments to the government to avoid ANSAA defacing their campaign materials.

“The agency has also given a two-week grace to make such payments or face a legal enforcement.
“It has also gotten to the knowledge of the Agency that some political party candidates are erecting billboards on their own ignorantly.
“The Agency wants to state that this is not only wrong but illegal and any such billboard would be brought down without any notice, the structure seized permanently and auctioned.

“This lasts between 14th of November and to 5th of December.
‘It’s the wish of the Agency that by the 5th of December 2022, all billboards in the State must have been duly registered and paid for, as legal enforcement starts immediately.
“Remember ANSAA is your progress partner in business and we want you to succeed.”

A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Tuesday, ordered the Independent National Electoral Commission to immediately resume the Continuous Voters Registration until 90 days before the 2023 general elections.

Justice Inyang Ekwo, in the judgment, also directed INEC to ensure that eligible Nigerians were not deprived the opportunity to have their voter card for the forthcoming poll.
Justice Ekwo held that it was the constitutional responsibility of the electoral umpire to make adequate provision for the exercise in accordance with the Nigerian laws.

“The case of the plaintiffs succeeds on merit,” the judge declared.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Anajat Salmat and three others had sued INEC as sole defendant in a suit marked: FHC/ABJ/CS/1343/2022.
In the originating summons filed before the court, the plaintiffs argued that INEC cannot stop the CVR contrary to the stipulated provisions of the constitution.

They urged the court to order the electoral umpire to resume the exercise in accordance with the law of the country.

His Words:
“He (Soludo) remains my brother, we are very close. I remain prayerful for him. For other things which I didn’t succeed, God has given him opportunity to do it and succeed.

“So, if there is anything pending, governance doesn’t finish, people are still in government in America, so you stop where you will stop, other people will continue from there.

“He is the governor of the state; he is my senior brother, he is even more intelligent than me because he is a professor, I am a trader, so he knows more and will be able to do things better than I am doing it.

COURT REMANDS EFCC BOSS IN PRISON FOR DISOBEYING COURT  ORDER ASKING HIM TO RETURN A RANGE ROVER SPORT CAR SEIZED BY THE COMMISSION

COURT REMANDS EFCC BOSS IN PRISON FOR DISOBEYING COURT  ORDER ASKING HIM TO RETURN A RANGE ROVER SPORT CAR SEIZED BY THE COMMISSION

EFCC Boss

AJM NEWS

An Abuja High Court sitting at Maitama has ordered that the Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa, be remanded in prison custody, following his alleged disobedience to a valid court order.

The court, in a ruling that was delivered by Justice Chizoba Oji, found the EFCC boss guilty of contempt of court, after it was disclosed that he declined to return a Range Rover Sport (Super Charge) vehicle valued at N40million, which the anti-graft agency seized from a former Director of Operations at the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, Air Vice Marshal, AVM, Rufus Adeniyi Ojuawo.

Justice Orji had in an order she made since November 21, 2018, ordered the Commission to return the exotic vehicle to AVM Ojuawo, who was on trial.

The former NAF Director of Operations was in 2016, docked before trial Justice Muawiyah Baba Idris of the High Court of the FCT at Nyanya for allegedly receiving N40m and a Range Rover Sport, from one Hima Aboubakar of Societe D’Equipment Internationaux Nigeria Limited.

He was arraigned on a two-count criminal charge.

Following a separate proceeding the defendant initiated against the Commission, the high court, in 2018, ordered that the seized vehicle should be returned to him.

However, four years after the order was made, counsel to the defendant, Mr. R.N. Ojabo, drew attention of the court to the fact that EFCC had yet to comply with it.

Irked by the development, Justice Orji, ordered the arrest and remand of the EFCC Chairman over his wilful disobedience to an extant order of the court.

“The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission is in contempt of the orders of this honourable court made on November 21st 2018 directing the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abuja to return to the applicant his Range Rover (Super charge) and the sum of N40, 000,000.00 (Forty Million Naira).

“Having continued wilfully in disobedience to the order of this court, he should be committed to prison at Kuje Correctional Centre for his disobedience, and continued disobedience of the said order of court made on November 21st, 2018, until he purges himself of the contempt”, Justice Orji held.

Meanwhile, spokesman for the EFCC, Wilson Uwujaren, on Tuesday, told newsmen that the agency would appeal against the ruling.

THE GRAMMATICAL BLUNDERS OF NWIFURU, NOT ENOUGH TO RULE HIM OFF

THE GRAMMATICAL BLUNDERS OF NWIFURU, NOT ENOUGH TO RULE HIM OFF

Gov. Umahi And Hon. Nwifuru

By Otu Obiahu

The Inability To Express Oneself Boldly In A Crowd, Or Grammatical Blunders Made While Giving A Speech Are Not Enough To Conclude That One Would Be A Bad Leader, Nor An Indicator That One Is Not Qualified To Contest An Election.
Moses The Great Leader Of Israel Was A Poor Speaker And A Stammerer That God Decided To Give Him An Interpreter/Assistant In The Person Of Aaron.

Naturally, Some Persons Are Typically Reserved And Quiet And Tend To Be Introspective; That’s Why We Refer To Them As INTROVERTS.
According To Linda Grant (English Novelist And Journalist), “Research Has Shown That About 70% Of TOP EXECUTIVES ARE INTROVERTS”.

To Buttress This Fact, Steven Aitchison (The Author Of The Belief Principle) Made A Very Striking Point About The Once Richest Man On Earth, Bill Gates.
He Said: “Bill Gates Is Quiet And Bookish, But Apparently Unfazed By Others’ Opinions Of Him: He’s An INTROVERT, But Not Shy.

NOTE: Introverts Are Typically More Comfortable Interacting With Small Groups Of People Rather Than Large Groups (As At Parties, Political Rallies, Or Other Social Gatherings).
No Wonder The Incumbent Speaker Of Ebonyi State House Of Assembly And APC Gubernatorial Candidate, Rt.Hon Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru Feels A Little Bit Relaxed While Addressing Fellow Lawmakers (Who Are Few In Number), As He Pilots The Affairs Of The Assembly, But Shows Some Traits Of Uneasiness And Nervousness While Speaking To A Crowd Of People; Though That Does Not Make Him A Bad Leader.

There Are Several World Leaders Who Travel With Interpreters To Global Conferences And Meetings, To Enable Others Understand What They’re Saying, As They Blow Their Native Language Unapologetically!

So, The Issue Of Nwifuru Making Grammatical Blunders While Addressing His Audience Is Not Weighty And Reasonable Enough To Rule Him Off Outrightly.
However, The Problem Most Ebonyians Have With His Candidacy Is The Deliberate Move Of Gov. Umahi To Foist His Choice-Candidate (Nwifuru) On Ebonyians, Which Would Invariably Extend His Term In Office (As He Would Wield So Much Influence And Power Over His BOY In Office).
It Would Be Recalled That Gov. Umahi Had During A Burial Programme In Ohaozara Presented The Speaker, Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru As The Next Governor Of Ebonyi State, Noting “He’s The Choice Of Ebonyians”.
In That Vein, Some Political Observers Have Rightly Described Hon. Nwifuru As “UMAHI’S PRO-MAX”.
That’s Where The Bulk Of The Problem Lies, Not In His Inability To Speak Polished English To His Listeners.

We Don’t Need An Extension Of Gov. Umahi’s Administration After His Eight Years In Office, Directly Or Indirectly, Though He Performed Well In A Very Few Areas; However, We Would Need A Fresh Leader, Who Has No Connection With Umahi To Direct The Affairs Of The State This Time Around.
We Need A Leader Who Would Come Up With A Different Approach From That Of Umahi To Solving The Barrage Of Problems Facing Ebonyi State.

Fortunate Enough, We Have Other Young, Energetic And Visionary Candidates Vying For The Governorship Position In The State, Who Would Not Be Remote-controlled By The Immediate Past Administration; We Can Pick Any Of Them.

Like I Noted In One Of My Articles, “The Coming In Of Nwifuru Into Power Will Be A Continuation Of Umahi’s Dynasty And Third Term Bid, And We Must Say NO To It!”

Let’s Choose Wisely!
