The gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ebonyi State, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii has described the victory he got at the Supreme Court as “a great victory for everyone”.

The Supreme Court on Wednesday declared the 45-year-old billionaire and business mogul, Dr. Ifeanyi Chukwuma Odii as the authentic governorship candidate of the PDP in Ebonyi, for the forthcoming general elections in 2023.

The apex court restored the judgment of the Federal High Court delivered on June 7, 2022, which the Court of Appeal had set aside in its July 19 judgment.

The court held that the Court of Appeal was without jurisdiction to have heard the appeal filed by Ogba, because the notice of appeal filed by Ogba on June 17, 2022 was incompetent because he failed to first obtain the leave of court to appeal as an interested party.
The apex court further held that the incompetence of Ogba’s notice of appeal robbed the Court of Appeal the requisite jurisdiction, and as such, all the proceedings conducted amounted to a nullity, including the order made in the July 19 judgment setting aside the June 7 judgment of the Federal High Court, which had upheld Ifeanyi’s nomination.
The apex court also struck out the cross-appeal filed by Ogba.

The apex court, in a unanimous decision by a five-man panel of justices, which was headed by Justice Amina Augie, held that the appeal marked SC/CV/ 939/2022, which Ifeanyi lodged before the apex court, was meritorious and deserved to succeed.

Speaking on the outcome of the judgement, Dr. Ifeanyi  Odii noted that victory has affirmed their belief in justice and due process, as he also thanked the leadership of the party and his teeming supporters for standing by him.

His words:

“Our victory today at the Supreme Court affirms our belief in justice and due process. I thank the leadership of our great party, the PDP, and our teeming supporters who stood by us to this day. This is a great victory for everyone and I give God the glory.

“The task before us now is to position the state on the path to progress and human development.

“Our mission is to create wealth, ensure the security and well-being of our people, and restore Ebonyi to its pride of place in Nigeria.

“I call for unity and reconciliation in our great party and in all Ebonyi state. With unity of purpose, we can reclaim the mandate of the people and deliver on our promise of Hope for all Ebonyians.

“This is a mission to serve and we are prepared for the task ahead.”

FINALLY, DSS SETS MAMA BIAFRA FREE, AS DEMANDED BY NNAMDI KANU

The Department of State Services (DSS) has finally released Ukamaka Ejezie, popularly called Mama Biafra, who is said to be the foster mother of the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The DSS released Mama Biafra on Sunday after several months in detention, as earlier requested by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The 80-year-old ‘Mama Biafra’, was reportedly arrested during Kanu’s court appearance at the Federal High Court, Abuja on May 18, 2022.

Since the death of Kanu’s parents in 2020, Ukamaka Ejezie (Mama Biafra), had been acting as his mother.

“I saw her at the DSS detention cell after her clothes were washed and spread on the wall. I demand that she be released because she committed no crime. She is an old woman and since my mother died I have taken her as my mother. The DSS should release her”, Kanu had requested.

The leader of Kanu’s legal team, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, confirmed the release of Ukamaka Ejezie in a short statement obtained by AJM NEWS.

He said, “I am very delighted to inform you all that Mrs. Ukamaka Ejezie (Mama Biafra) has regained her freedom. She is now out of the DSS dungeon. Thank thee Chukwuokike Abiama for this huge success.

“We are not relenting, every prisoners of conscience, including our indefatigable client, Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will soon regain their freedom.

“We in the legal team, are doing everything legally permissible to make it happen, we are not resting on our oars at all, be assured. Forward ever and backward never! We move.”

A physically challenged man on crutches was sighted among the thousands of able bodied men and women who came out today for the solidarity rally organised for the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.

The picture of the man seen on crutches in todays rally has gone viral on the internet and has also attracted lots of sympathizers looking for a way to get in touch with him, so that they can show him some love.

One of those looking for a means to reach the physically challenged man on crutches is Alex Ozone.
He wrote on his verified Facebook account:

Meanwhile, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has expressed his gratitude as his supporters take to the streets to rally for him.

According to tales, images, and flicks making rounds on social media, the rallies had been held in Afikpo, Port Harcourt, Auchi in Edo State, and Makurdi, the capital of Benue State. Photos from these rallies have sparked blended reactions as they made rounds on social media.

Peter Obi who’s presently the most popular presidential candidate, went to his social media handle to show appreciation to his teeming supporters for the rally; he wrote:

However, a Federal High Court, sitting in Abakaliki, the Ebonyi State capital, had on Thursday, nullified the recently conducted local government area election in the state.

According to the court, the local government election, which held on July 30, 2022, contradicted the provisions of the 2022 Electoral Act.

The Presiding Judge, Justice Rilman Fatun, in a suit No. FHC/AI/CS/151/2022, ruled that the election was undemocratic, unlawful shrouded in secrecy.

EBONYI STATE UNIVERSITY WILL PLANT OVER 200,000 TREES TO BOOST SCHOOL IGR, SAYS VICE CHANCELLOR, PROF. OGBUU

Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki, EBSU, weekend said it has begun the planting of over 200,00 trees across its campuses, in order to boost its Internally Generated Revenue, IGR in the State.

The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Chigozie Ogbuu who stated this during the launch of tree planting initiative by the Faculty of Management Sciences of the University through Eco-friendly Initiative in conjunction with Ike-Elechi Ogba Foundation, IEOF, at the Permanent site of the University, added that the initiative would also ensure that the eco system of the University was not depleted.

Represented by Prof. Eugene Nweke, Deputy Vice Chancellor Academics, the Vice Chancellor further explained that the gains accruable from tree planting remain unquantifiable as the University would make alot of revenue from the initiative.

According to him: “You cannot fully quantity what you will get from your farm and the reason is very simple because there are risks associated with planting. You have the risk of natural disasters, among others. Hopefully, it’s going to be bountiful. We will gain alot from it. The fruits you gain from the trees are enormous.

“And without mincing words, we are looking at millions of Naira. I cannot say how many millions, but we will get millions of naira. For instance, if you have a thousand tree of cocoa, You know it grows for life, and as it grows older, it grows bigger and produces more. That is the beauty of trees.

“It’s an investment that increases incrementally and that’s why we say that you cannot quantify what is accruable from trees. Be assured that the money increases.

“The money increases because the demand for fruits is top on the rank of what people need now. We are hopeful that we will get alot of revenue from that. The tree planting programme is ongoing and we have planted trees across the faculties. You know, if you listened well, I talked about the ones that has grown and are adding value to the school.

“We are getting to 200,000 trees already planted, not only on this campus. You know we have Four campuses. We started this tree planting last year. The tree launching took place at the facility of Education and if you go there, the environment is becoming very green and in the near future, the trees will improve the beauty of this place.

“We are putting measures in place to curb such disaster and that’s why we are doing it in partnership with students. The slogan is one Staff, one tree; one student one tree. It’s a community project, that is not imposed on anyone.”

In her remarks, the Deputy Vice Chancellor, Administration and Chairman, EBSU Eco friendly Initiative, Professor Happiness Oselebe described the initiative as a dream come true adding that “Eco-friendly Initiative is not for aesthetics alone but for the promotion of good, healthy environment.”

“We have trees that will give us the oxygen that we need. It will generate income as well as food. We are planting for food Security. We have other fruits. Cocoa Research Institute gifted Ebonyi State University 1000 Cocoa seedlings for planting. Cocoa is what you used for your beverages, among others. In years coming, we shall be selling.”

Deaconess Ann Agom-Eze has said she is still the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ebonyi south senatorial seat.

She said she has not been expelled from the party, and that no notice of such was sent to her by the party’s state chapter.

Agom-Eze is the main challenger of David Umahi, governor of Ebonyi, for the ticket.

On July 22, a federal high court in Abakaliki dismissed a suit filed by Umahi, asking the court to recognise him as the APC candidate for the senatorial district.

However, the court recognised Agom-Eze, who came second in the May 28 senatorial primary election for Ebonyi south, but ordered that a fresh primary election be conducted within 14 days.

The APC conducted a fresh primary election on July 31, and Umahi was declared the winner.

Following this development, the Ebonyi chapter of the party announced the expulsion of Agom-Eze from the party for “rebelliously jeopardising her membership by violating APC’s constitution”.

Reacting to this on Sunrise Daily, a Channels Television programme, Agom-Eze said though the matter remains in court, she is the bonafide senatorial candidate of the party.

“As far as I am concerned, I’m the candidate because the judgment of the 22nd of June proclaimed me the candidate. So, for me, I am the candidate. Though the case is still in court and ongoing, I’m still the candidate,” she said.

“I haven’t been expelled from the party. You and I know that to expel a person, that person has to be informed but I haven’t been informed. It was supposed to have come in writing, letting me know about the offences.

“And I should be able to respond. It is consequent on my response that I will be invited by a committee to look at those issues before a committee is taken.

“I also did not sign any letter of withdrawal also, I didn’t know where they got it from. I also didn’t lie in court and that’s up for the court to decide.”

27,000 NASARAWA APC, PDP MEMBERS DEFECT TO LABOUR PARTY

Ahead of the 2023 general election, no fewer than 27,000 registered members of the All Progressives Congress and the Peoples Democratic Party in Nasarawa State have declared their support for the Labour Party.

The Labour Party said plans were on top gear to receive the defectors into its fold in the first week of September, 2022.

The state Chairman of the party, Alexander Emmanuel, made the disclosure on Saturday while inaugurating a new LP office donated to the party by youth and women groups in Agyaragu community, Obi Local Government Area of the state.

He said the 27,000 defectors from the APC and PDP were in addition to the party’s one million supporters drawn from 56 support groups across the 13 LGAs of the state.

He said, “These 27,000 defectors are those who indicated interest to join our party within the last two weeks. It was after the one-million-man march that was held in Lafia LGA for our presidential candidate, Peter Obi, that they came to declare support for our party and preparation is on top gear to receive them by the first week of September.

“Today, we are in Agyaragu to inaugurate this party office which was donated by the youth and women in the community through the Crowd Power support group for Peter Obi.

“You can see the turn-out of people in a short notice. In fact, we are happy with the level of support that we are getting on a daily basis. I am confident that the Labour Party will win the 2023 presidential, governorship and other elections.”

AFIKPO (EHUGBO) NATIONAL PRAYER SUMMIT COMES TO AN END, RECORDS GREAT SUCCESS

The 2022 Afikpo National Prayer Summit has come to an end.

The prayer summit which began on Tuesday, 9 August through Saturday, 13 August 2022, and held at the Presbyterian Church of Nigeria, Federal Low-cost, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, recorded a huge success as it drew so many Christians of different denominations from Afikpo and beyond, with lots of testimonies.

The programme also attracted several seasoned ministers of the gospel who charged the atmosphere and quickened the brethren with powerful messages and prayers aimed at equipping them as ‘sanctified vessels unto God’ as it concerns City Building, and getting well prepared for the battle ahead.

The participants were also urged to be always available and committed!

Some of the speakers include: Ven. Michael Okoh, Pastor Kingsley Abaga, Rev. Lawrence Eze, Rev. C.J Ezeali, Evang. Eze Ubi Eze, and the Coordinator of New Ehugbo Foundation (NEF), Apostle Paul Eze, among others.

According to the Coordinator, Apostle Paul Eze,
“The Prayer Summit is the Central Altar for the Liberation, Restoration and Transformation of Ehugbo land.

“This altar was officially raised on 4th Nov. 2005, by Rev Dr Uma Ukpai during our Citywide crusade at Amoru/Mgbom primary school, Afikpo.

“This altar is significant to us, because Ehugbo Traditional Ruling council in agreement with the five Autonomous Eze Ogos of Ehugbo handed over the land of Ehugbo to God. The people and the Church entered into covenant of the Lordship of Jesus Christ over Ehugbo.

“Again, this altar has been handed over to us (the Church), to sustain through prayer. Every child of God living in Ehugbo is expected to participate in the prayer as it is done annually on every August”.

This year’s prayer summit is the 12th edition, with the theme: THE WICKED SHALL BE VOMITED FROM THE LAND

One of the resource persons, Ven. Michael Okoh
in his ministration, warned all those in the land of Ehugbo whom he described as “strange children and strange men and women” who love wickedness and perpetrate evil in the land to desist from such or be ready to receive destruction.

Ven. Okoh, however charged the Christians in Ehugbo to understand whom they are in Christ and take their rightful positions as decision makers in the land, adding that whatsoever they speak concerning the land of Ehugbo is what will happen.

There were also praise/worship, prayer and testimony sessions during the programme.

As terrorists and insecurity is gradually but surely taking over the Nigeria seat of power Abuja, we the global movement and noble family of the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) led by Mazi Nnamdi Kanu wish to remind the so called Elders and politicians of Igbo extraction of Biafra in Abuja never to return home to Biafraland without Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

We express our delight over the fulfillment of the most if not all the prophecies of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. We expect the caliphate sponsored terrorists to take over Aso Rock any moment from now and ensure that Nigeria Government led by impostors called presidency don’t exist anymore in fulfilment of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s prophecy.

It is crystal clear that these terrorists and jihadists after taking over the Zoo seat of power, will come down to the Western and Eastern Nigeria. The entire South are not save any more and there is urgent need for entire South to restrategize and get the already infiltrated terrorists out of our territories without delay.

All Eastern politicians, businessmen and women, traditional rulers, Senators and Federal House of Representatives, Religious men and women including Governors must ensure the urgent release of Mazi Nnamdi KANU as ordered by United Nations otherwise the land will not contain us and them.
